Once Upon A Tragedy
Gotta Run
This one is back in Kaelyn’s point of view.
It’s been a day of being in this bed. I fell much better, but everyone has agreed that I should keep resting for at least one more day. Andy has come in a few times to check on me, he even brought my favorite book, so I would have something to do.
“Do you think you can eat something yet?” I heard Zach ask as I looked up from my book.
“I don’t think so,” I said sadly, I haven’t been able to keep anything down.
“How long have you been up?” I heard Andy ask as he walked into the room.
“Umm, I’ve read five chapters, so probably around four hours,” I said as I referred to the long chapters.
“Maybe you should try to sleep some more,” he said as he sat on the bed and took the book gently out of my hands.
“Ugh, fine,” I stated showing my annoyance of having to sleep and read, not getting to do anything else.
Zach walked out of the room as I lay down. Andy started to get up, but I grabbed his hand.
“Can you stay with me, at least until I fall asleep?” I asked him, not wanting to be alone.
He gave me a sweet smile and lay down next to me, wrapping his arms around me as I laid my head on his shoulder.
I didn’t realize how tired I was. I had fallen asleep right away.
The next time I woke up was the next day. Andy must have left shortly after I fell asleep. I felt like new again, so I decided to get up. Surprised that I didn’t fall, since the last time I tried I fell straight on my face; I got changed into my yoga pants and a baggy sweatshirt. I then walked to the mirror that had my phone next to it, to see what time it was. It was eleven in the morning. I sighed, realizing how long I slept. I looked in the mirror and grimaced at how bad I looked.
I found the duffel with my stuff in it and searched for anything to fix the disaster that was my face. Not finding anything, I picked up a hair-tie and threw my hair up into a messy bun. Knowing I had to go to the other bus for my makeup. I walked out to the living room, immediately having Kory walk up to me to feel my forehead.
“Ok, you’re good, why don’t you get something to eat and drink, then we will walk you to the other bus.” He stated as I gave him an amused glance, walking to the little kitchenette.
“Ok, Doctor,” I said sarcastically, with an eye roll.
“Well, she’s back to her old self, that’s for sure,” I heard Bennie laugh.
Wanting to get back to the bus to see the chaos that most likely ensued, I quickly ate an apple and grabbed a water bottle.
“Let’s go!” I said as I grabbed the duffle and pointed to the door.
They all rushed out after me. As I walked onto the other bus, it was peaceful and surprisingly clean. Seeing no one in sight, I walked through the bunkroom, dropping the duffle on my bunk. I opened the door to Laila’s room to see the men of Black Veil Brides asleep in various positions. Andy was asleep on the floor slightly leaning against the bassinet. CC was upside down on the couch with his mouth hanging wide open. Ashley was curled up into a ball on the rocking chair that we had gotten and secured to the floor. Jake and Jinxx were the only normal looking ones, being on the floor on their stomachs.
I had to hold my laughter in as I walked to the bassinet, stepping over bodies. I grabbed Laila, who was wide awake. Once she saw me she gave me the greatest toothless smile and reached for me.
I brought her back to my guys in the living room. I told them of the situation back there.
“Now, we can’t let this opportunity pass by,” I said as I let my inner evil prankster out.
“Maybe one of us could hide back there and play a recording of a baby screaming,” Zach said, as he was my partner in crime.
“Yeah! Then they will scramble to get her, and see she isn’t there and freak out!” I said, getting excited.
“Ok, since I’m the smallest, I’ll do it since I can hide better.” Bennie stated, heading back there.
We all walked outside and hid against the other side of the bus and waited.
We heard a distant baby’s scream and the bus shook as they all got up to stop the crying.
We all held in our laughter.
And then there was some freaked out yells.
“Where is she?” I heard Andy yell.
“I don’t know, Jake was the last one to hold her!” I heard Ashley say, defending himself.
The bus shook as they all ran around, trying to find her. They then ran off the bus to the other. We watched as that one shook also. I saw a figure step off the bus.
“Kaelyn!” I heard Andy yell, he must have figured it out, since I wasn’t in the bed in the back of that bus.
“Aaaand, that’s my cue,” I said as I handed Laila to Zach and ran.
I was running in the opposite direction, once I was in view of Andy, I heard him yell again. Knowing that he had started running after me, I kept running, thinking of how to get out of this.
I started to slow down to let him get closer, and then sped up to match his pace. Out of nowhere I turned around and ran past him. I was so out of breath by the time I reached the busses again.
I ran onto BVB’s bus and ran into the bathroom, locking the door. I sat catching my breath for a second. I felt the bus shake as people came on and suddenly there was pounding on the door. I jumped, not expecting that, but did not respond.
After I had my breath back, I got up and found my makeup. I put black eyeliner on, that’s it because I didn’t need anything else, and I’m not a fan of makeup. I decided to straighten my hair.
The knocks on the door had stopped a few minutes ago, and I heard the commotion die down. So I waited five more minutes before I walked out.
I opened the door as slowly and as quietly as I could. Peeking out, I saw everyone sitting around, Andy was holding Laila. I smiled a little before I stepped out.
“So how was everything without me?” I asked as I put my hands on my hips.
Everyone snapped their heads towards me. Andy got up slowly and walked towards me, so slowly. I became worried, I started looking around, avoiding his vulture like stare. I backed up to the wall and looked down at Laila, still in his arms.
He was right in front of me, almost touching. I finally got the courage to look into his eyes. After a moment his eyes went soft and he leaned down and gave me a soft kiss, shocking me.
He pulled away and I stayed in the same position with a look of terror on my face, I had also stopped breathing.
After a few seconds, I heard laughter, shaking me out of my daze.
“Everything went perfectly fine; we can all take care of her now, so you won’t have to do as much.” I finally got my answer from Jinxx. I nodded slowly as I looked to everyone, my eyes finally landing on Andy, who had sat back down.
“That. Was. Not. Nice.” I said as I glared at him and took a step with every word.
Now it was his turn to get a scared look on his face. He gave Laila to CC.
“What are you going to do about it?” He asked as he gulped.
I took his hand and took him to Laila’s room. I stood in front of him, still glaring. He avoided my eyes.
“I am going to punch you in the mouth.” I said calmly, he looked up at me, shocked. I raised my fist, making him flinch.
“With my own mouth.” I said taking a step towards him, he looked confused.
“Softly,” I added as I grabbed his hands.
“Because I like you.” I finished as I leaned up to kiss him. He leaned down a little and wrapped his arms around my waist as I wrapped my arms around his neck.
We pulled away, breathless. I put buried my head into his chest, hugging him.
“Now that was mean,” he whispered, kissing the top of my head.
“You loved it,” I said into his chest.
“That I did, I’m glad to have you back,” He stated as we walked back to the front, hand in hand.

“Ok, you’re good, why don’t you get something to eat and drink, then we will walk you to the other bus.” He stated as I gave him an amused glance, walking to the little kitchenette.
“Ok, Doctor,” I said sarcastically, with an eye roll.
“Well, she’s back to her old self, that’s for sure,” I heard Bennie laugh.

“Aaaand, that’s my cue,” I said as I handed Laila to Zach and ran.

“Softly,” I added as I grabbed his hands.
“Because I like you.” I finished as I leaned up to kiss him. He leaned down a little and wrapped his arms around my waist as I wrapped my arms around his neck.
We pulled away, breathless. I put buried my head into his chest, hugging him.
“Now that was mean,” he whispered, kissing the top of my head.
“You loved it,” I said into his chest.
“That I did, I’m glad to have you back,” He stated as we walked back to the front, hand in hand.
