Once Upon A Tragedy
Memories and Weddings
We had decided to have the wedding in six months. So much has happened in the time it took to prepare for it.
Laila had grown so much, she even started walking. I can still remember that day.
It was the first day since we got engaged that we had time to ourselves. We were just sitting in the living room with Laila. We had been trying all week to get her to walk and had just decided to take a break. Andy was sitting on the floor propped up against the couch and I was lying with my head in his lap. We were sitting in silence, not having anything to say. I had just turned my head towards Laila, when I saw her start to get on her feet. “Are you seeing this? Record it!” I said to Andy, getting excited. Laila started taking a step right as Andy started recording it on his phone. She was shaky, but she was taking small steps toward us, I guess she wanted to get closer to us, as we were on the other side of the room.
That was a great day. But of course, ever since then we had to follow her everywhere to make sure she didn’t get into any trouble or hurt herself.
I remember when I told my direct family that I got engaged, they were so excited and all the women of my family immediately started making plans to go dress shopping and a bridal shower and anything else that they could come up with. But the day that my extended family found out was hectic and full of yelling. You see one of my cousins that I’m not too fond of was in love with Andy, they had never met, she was just a fan, a fake one at that. So of course she went all psycho bitch on me, but I got over it.
We had attended Jake and Ella’s wedding during the course of planning our own. Andy was a groomsman and I was a bridesmaid, even though she hadn’t known me for long. It was such a beautiful wedding, one that I would always remember.
The boys had also gone in to start recording a new album, so they got home late sometimes. There was one night that I was all alone with Laila. I got a call from Sammi, she was freaking out. After getting Laila into my clown car, I had rushed over to Sammi’s. I had been pulled into the house right away. Ella wasn’t there because she was busy with some modeling thing in New York. “I think I’m pregnant! I wanted you to be here when I took the test.” She had told me as she pulled me to sit on a couch as she took the test. She was so nervous; I knew they had been trying for a while now. We waited the designated time. “I can’t look at it! You look,” She told me, freaking out. I looked down to it and then looked back up to her. “It’s negative; do you have other types to try?” I asked, not wanting her to go all depressing on me. “Yeah, I’ll be back soon,” She said sadly as she walked back to the bathroom. They all came back negative. “Hey! Don’t be sad, get glad! You can always keep trying, maybe do all the math and crap to know when you are ovulating!” I said trying to cheer her up.
All these events made the six months go by so quickly. I was standing in the dressing room, looking at myself in the mirror. I was so nervous, but I knew everything would go smoothly. Andy would love my dress, it’s a lace ballgown. I had told Andy that it was a mermaid style because he wanted me in a big dress, I wanted to surprise him. My hair was down and wavy, and my makeup was natural.
“Hey, don’t worry, everything will be fine!” I heard Sammi say as she came up behind me, holding my bouquet; she was my maid of honor.
“There is nothing to be nervous about! You are marrying the man of your dreams and you look amazing, he is going to have a heart attack!” Ella added, she was a bridesmaid as well.
Soon enough, it was time for me to walk down the aisle. I took a deep breath and walked out, my eyes instantly locking with Andy’s, I could feel a huge grin come across my face as I took in how good he looked, he looked like a king with a grin that matched mine. I came up to the altar and he took my hand as I passed the bouquet to Sammi. I teared up as the ceremony went on, and soon enough we kissed and were officially husband and wife. I couldn’t have asked for it to go any differently, Laila had been running around, bringing a sense of humor to the whole thing, which is exactly what we wanted. The night went on as people partied and congratulated us, but all I could think about was our honeymoon. We were going to a private island. I couldn’t wait.
“Let’s get out of here, Mrs. Biersack,” Andy whispered into my ear, eager to leave.
“Alright, Mr.Biersack.” I said with a laugh as we made our way out. We got into a limo that brought us to the airport. I had changed into a white dress in the limo, not wanting to be in my wedding dress on a plane.
I never worried about Laila during the entire week we were away; Sammi and Jinxx were babysitting her. It was the best week of my life. I couldn’t be anymore happy.
