Church Is In Session **COMPLETED**

Home Is Where the Heart Is

“Hey, are you sure you should be up and about? “I asked Esther when I saw her in the court yard, it was a food court again, talking with Zain.

It had been over a week since the fight. People’s lives were starting to go back to normal, even mine. To my shock my boss had died during the battle leaving me jobless. Sure she was a bitch but I couldn’t help but cry when I heard the news. Andy had told me that he couldn’t just take down a shop so…I was the new owner! I had hired Esther as a part time employee until she got well enough to go back into the doctors with Jinxx.

“Yeah, no scars!” She said lifting her shirt to show a pure, clean torso.

“I don’t even know how she can heal so fast.” Zain said.

Jinxx and I were the only one’s she had told about the whole angel thing. I was glad of that. “Well ready to get to work then?” I asked.

“Oh you know what? I’m not feeling to great, maybe I should go back to the doctors for another week.” She said holding her head.

I laughed, “good try, I don’t need you until next week anyway.” I winked at her.

“Well in that case who wants to get drunk?” She suggested.

I hesitated, “I have stuff at the shop to do.”

“Aw all work no play?” Zain asked.

“Yeah something like that,” a hopefully new worker was coming in today and I needed to be there when they got there.

I walked into an empty shop. They had obviously decided not to show. Ah well, I wanted to get some rest anyway. I began to finish storage in the back. I lifted a necklace like the one the old lady had stolen a while back. That brought my mind to Andy. Then that brought me to the secret I was currently keeping from him. I set the necklace with the others and sat down against a wall. I wanted desperately to not tell him but he needed to know. Plus I couldn’t keep a secret like that anyway. The secret had shocked myself. If I didn’t even want to know how was Andy going to handle it? I shook out of my day dream needing to talk to Esther. I hoped she wasn’t too drunk. I closed the shop and walked toward Esther’s. I opened the door to a very drunk Zain but a completely fine Esther. I could see that she had taken a few shots but not enough to get her drunk.

“Can I talk to you?” I asked Esther.

“Sure, what about?” She asked prying Zain off of her.

“Away from him?” I asked looking toward Zain.

“Yeah, of course.” She pulled me into the kitchen and looked back to Zain one last time before turning back to me. “What’s up?”

“I have to tell you something…” I started.

“If it’s what I think you’re talking about I already know.” She smiled.

“How?!” How did she know?

“Let’s call it, angels intuition,” she smirked. I was going to pretend that wasn’t creepy.

“How do I tell Andy?”

“Just tell him, what’s it going to hurt?” She asked crossing her arms. I sighed, she didn’t know how he would react, I did.

“But…”

“There’s no ‘buts’ just tell him. Why would he be mad a you?” She asked.

“When should I tell him?” I asked.

“Now.” She shoved me out of her house and pushed me in the direction of mine.

I was readying a speech when I opened the door to Andy fixing a dinner. He had candles set out and lots of meat and bread. He smiled when he saw me walk in and offered me to take a seat. I sat down and waited for him to do the same. I stared at the bandage that was still wrapped around his harm. He had let it get infected and now it was worse than if he just let Jinxx fix it properly. Ugh why were guys to hard to understand?

“I think we should take to night to ourselves. No work, no worries, no brothers.” He laughed.

I smiled at his attempt, and success, to make a very lovely dinner. I pushed my secret to the back of my mind and focused on the food and Andy. I wasn’t about to ruin tonight with a silly secret I had the rest of my life to tell him…or rather the rest of the month.
