Church Is In Session **COMPLETED**

We Are Bulletproof

Jinxx tended to Andy’s arm, which was worse than it looked, and helped the others who were wounded. Most of the people could stand but the ones who couldn’t were carried by others or we made stretchers out of what we could. The walk back to Camp W felt triumphant. Yes, there were less of us, quite a few less, but we had completed what we had gone to do. We would remember the ones who had fallen and tell their legacy to those who will never hear voices again. Night had fallen into a deep black. Not a cloud in the sky. The stars seemed to shine for the brave soldiers who had fallen. Alex was the only dead that was brought with us. The people seemed to want to take him with us for more personal reasons. We wanted to take all of the dead but we weren’t able to carry then all. Esther was being helped by Jinxx and I. I refused to let her walk without me. What had he done to her? She had told me that it was nearly impossible to harm an angel to this extent. Did F.E.A.R. know secrets that she didn’t even know? That didn’t matter anymore. He was dead and the people can finally live free lives without his hand over our heads.

“How’s your arm?” I asked Andy when he walked up beside me.

“Doesn’t even hurt,” he was lying. He turned to Esther, “how are you feeling?”

“Fantastic,” she said sarcastically.

“At least you still have your humor,” he smirked.

“I knew we could do it.” I whispered to Andy.

He smiled and walked up next to Ashley to help him with some of the prisoners F.E.A.R. had caged up. I could see the camp off in the distance. I heard Esther sigh then give into the pain she had been feeling. She collapsed to the ground. Jinxx caught her and picked her up bridal style and carried her the rest of the way. We walked into the camp with silenced welcomes and ‘I’m so glad you’re okay.’ One elderly man at the back of the camp started to clap. I saw the rest of the camp raise their hands to do the same. Soon enough the whole camp roared with claps and hollers. I smiled knowing that I was the one who brought this on. But it wasn’t just me. It was Coma, Andy, Jake, Jinxx, Ashley, Alex, and the rest of the camp. I saw Jinxx take Esther and the rest of the wounded to the doctor hall which would now probably be moved to the court yard. I sat down on the first step of the main stair case and I put my head in my hands. I lifted my hands to see blood covering them, making me not even know the hands that were attached to my body. I let tears lose and soon began sobbing for all of the deaths. I had never killed anyone before. Even a bad guy. It was still a life. And if I claimed responsibility for the win then I would have to take the same responsibility for the deaths of so many people. I felt someone’s arms wrap around me. I leaned into them not caring who it was.

“Look at these people,” Ashley said, “look at the happiness you have caused them.” I looked up from my hands to see everyone giving everyone else hugs and kisses. The new ones that were imprisoned were greeted with warm welcomes and food as well. “Don’t cry for fallen today, cry for the happiness that will be eternal.”

I ceased my tears and leaned against his shoulder. Who knew he could be such a deep person? The only guy I knew was the drunk man whore. This Ashley was pretty cool. Now that I started to think about it I was tired. Fighting all day sure does wear you out. I felt myself drifting to sleep when I heard Ashley talking.

“Oh sorry man, she just looked like she needed someone, then she kind of fell asleep.”

“It’s all good man, just giver her back.” I heard Andy laugh.

“She’s all yours,” Ashley moved from my side and I felt a new pair of arms pick me up and carry me off. I felt, what I presumed was Andy, open a door and I heard another voice.

“How come you won’t carry me to bed?” That was Zain.

“Because you didn’t fall asleep on the staircase.” Andy said. I felt him open another door then lay me on what I guessed was our bed.

He took my clothes off then replaced them with a new shirt. I felt bad pretending I was asleep but I didn’t think I would have had the strength to even get into bed. I heard him bring back a bucket of water. I felt him place a warm wet rag on my hands and face probably wiping the blood off. I smiled not wanting anything different right now.

“I thought you were asleep.” Andy said.

“I was,” I opened my eyes to see Andy’s shirtless torso covered in cleaned scratches.

My smile disappeared. “They don’t hurt,” he must have known what I was thinking. “All done,” he smiled putting the rag in the watered down blood bucket.

I sat up and pulled him into a bear hug. I held him tight and he did the same. He sat on the bed and pulled me into his lap. I nuzzled my face into his shoulder letting a few tears crash to his skin. He rubbed my back and whispered that it was okay into my ear. I could feel his own tears hit my skin and he held me tighter. I never wanted this to end. He rolled onto the bed and laid down pulling me with him.

“You owe me for that day you fell asleep on me.” I laughed.

“Now?” He laughed back.

“No, but soon.” I kissed his cheek and nuzzled my face into his chest. “I love you…so much,” I breathed into his chest.

“I love you, more than I can ever scream.” He said his lips grazing my forehead.
