I walk into the little restaurant, my back burning from the fresh tattoo. I roll my shoulders. Walk up to the counter. Order myself a burger. Sit down, and wait for them to call my order.
"Number thirty nine!" they call. I get up, and grab the brown paper bag. This shit is SO BAD for me, but it's just so good.
"Ivy?!" my name launches across the little restaurant in a giant question. I lift my head, face to face with Jake.
"Jake," I say, my voice dead. The pain in my back seems to have shot up a notch.
"Ivy, I did not expect to see you here,"
"You don't own the damn city, Jake, and you sure as hell don't own me,"
"Listen Ivy, I'm so sorry. I just had no idea what was happening, I didn't know who to go to, so I kept it to myself. And then I turned into that animal, and I just couldn't control myself," I stand.
"Jake, shut the fuck up. You live with a dragon for Chrissakes. You should have known, obviously,"
"How could I have known, Ivy? I didn't know it was even possible,"
"Whatever. I'll see you later, I guess. I mean, we do live together,"
"Ivy, stop this. Don't leave,"
"Bye,"
I walk out of the restaurant, and onto the bus to Jake's house.
