Ivy pulls herself away from Jake. They're both lying on the couch. Jake smiles softly at Ivy. Ivy smiles back. Jake looks into her eyes. They look like ice on blue fire. Ivy looks into his eyes. The once deep brown has lightened to a hazel color. The time that had been spent on Warped tour had darkened his skin. The dragon's smile pulled across her face, the tiger's smile pulled across his. Her smile falters when she sees his lips.
"Jake," she says quietly.
"Yeah?"
"Your smile is fake,"
"Pardon?"
"It isn't real Jake. You've been acting off for a week now,"
"It's nothing,"
"No, it isn't nothing,"
"Really. Nothing," Ivy grabs his face in between her shirt covered hands.
"Jake. I'm always going to be here for you, no matter what,"
"I know," Jake says dismissively.
"I'm serious," Ivy says.
"Yeah, I know," Jake replies.
"Anytime you need me, for anything, at all," she tells him. He kisses her, pulling her close. She pulls back. "I'll be there, in an instant," she looks at him. He looks back, his rather hazel eyes glinting in her blue white ones. "You know that right?"
"Yes, I do,"
"Do you?"
"Yes, Kaitlyn, relax," he tells her.
"Good," she replies. He puts his forehead against hers, he's holding her hands, that are still sleeve clad past her hands. They both look down at her small, hidden hands. He pushes her sleeve back from her left hand, revealing almost black polish and two rings. That's as far as he goes before he pulls her hand up to his lips. He kisses her rings, and the skin above it. A small smile tugs at her lips. He looks back up. He kisses her.
"I love you," she says.
"I love you," he replies.
