I Gave It All (for Gabe)
Gabrielle (Gab for short): 
As Shakespeare once said, 'If music be the food of love, play on.' And music was the food that fueled her soul. Gab and her band had won a contest that Warped tour had been holding. One band from each state, including Canada, would get a chance to perform at their state's Warped tour on one of the smaller stages. Gab and her band had beaten out all of the bands in Canada and were receiving their chance to perform for the two days that Warped tour held in Canada.
"Can you believe we're going to be meeting some of the most influential bands on this tour?" Gab jumped up and down with excitement. The band she hoped to meet the most was Black Veil Brides.
The day of Warped tour was insane. Each band member received their all access passes and got the opportunity to meet a bunch of the bands. In the midst of all the commotion, Gab got separated from her band. She looked around frantically for any familiar face, but she didn’t see any.
Okay, okay, just relax. She told herself. Just go to the stage. They’re all probably setting up over there anyway.
She began walking towards the stage when someone called out to her. “Hey, excuse me? Are you lost?” The voice sounded very familiar.
She turned around to see Ashley Purdy standing in front of her. She always thought Ashley was the cutest member of the band. Now he was talking to her. What was she supposed to say?
“Uh, yeah, actually I kind of am.” She admitted, blushing slightly.
He smiled down at her. “That’s alright. Where are you headed to? I can take you there.”
“I need to get to the…” She pulled a map out of her back pocket and looked down at the paper in her hands. “Kevin Says stage? Right here.” She pointed at the square on the map.
Ashley laughed a little at her slight accent. “I like your accent,” He commented. “It’s cute.”
She blushed more and more with his compliment. She looked back down at the map, trying to keep herself occupied. She felt so awkward because she didn’t know what to say to him. She was just so mesmerized by him. She couldn’t help but just stand there smiling at him.
“I can’t figure out how to read this damn thing.” She turned the map all different ways, trying to figure it out.
Ashley laughed a little more. “Come with me.” He took her hand and guided her along with him.
When they reached the stage, Ashley didn’t leave. “Mind if I stay and watch your set?”
“Oh, of course!” She agreed, smiling widely. She always wanted him to hear her sing one day. She wanted him to teach her how to play bass, even though she knew how to play a little, she wanted to be just as good as him. She just wanted him to like her.
“Ash, there you are!” Andy came up behind him half way through their set. “I’ve been looking all over for you.”
“Sorry,” Ashley apologized, still watching Gab on stage. “She got lost and I helped her find her way back to the stage. I didn’t want to be rude and leave so I figured I could stay and watch her set.”
Andy nodded, understandably. “Is she from around here?” He wondered.
“I never asked.” Ashley admitted. “But she sounds like she is. Her accent is really cute.”
Gab finished off the last song and waved to the small crowd as she exited the stage. “Ashley, did you like it? I gave it all! I tried my best to impress you.”
Ashley smiled. “Of course liked it!” He pulled her into a hug. She melted into the feeling of his arms tightly around her.
“Um, hi, yes, hello.” Andy gave her a small wave. “Andy, but you probably knew that.” He introduced himself. “Anyway, you’re from around here, yes?” He asked.
Gab nodded.
“Right, well, the guys and I wanted to maybe do a little sightseeing tonight after the show. Do you think you could show us around?” Andy inquired, raising one eye-brow.
Gab clapped her hands together. “I would love to!” She exclaimed.
Gab and Ashley shared a look of excitement. Ashley gave Andy a look of gratitude. Gab had been like no other girl Ashley had ever met before. She was sweet, genuine, and he couldn’t get over her accent. There was just something about her that clicked.
