Unbroken

The Legacy

I pulled my messenger bag up on my shoulder higher as I let my blue eyes roam over the busy airport in front of me. I felt a hand on my shoulder and I turned to see my mom and her tear filled eyes looking back at me. “I’m gonna miss you, sweetie.”

I would miss this. I would definantly miss Atlanta. I would miss going to see Braves games with my friend Kasey, I would miss Shopping days with my mom, I would really miss everything, really!

I was going to my dad’s. He left my mom right after she had me and now he wants to straighten things out and try to be in my life. I’m nineteen and he now begins to care. My mom had always been there. Once I discovered he actually wanted me to spend the summer with him I wasn’t going at all until my mom talked me into it. Saying it would be good in everyone’s best interests of I just went along with it… to see.

‘Maybe you’ll like him!’

Doubt it.

I realized she was still staring at me. I smiled anyway.. “I’m gonna miss you too, mom.” I opened my arms out, she eagerly giving me the hug she had obviously been dying to give me.

I looked over to see the familiar face of Jaxon, my boyfriend of two years. He walked up and wrapped his arms around my waist, nudging his nose into the crook of my neck. “I’m gonna miss you, also.”

I felt him smile into my neck. “Same here, babe.” He finally broke the hug and pulled something out of his back pocket. A silver chain with a small pearl heart hanging out now hung from his hand. “I got this for you. So you can remember me while your in LA.”

I gave him a weak smile as he walked around my body to loop the delicate chain around my neck and clasp it shut. The pearl not laying just below my collarbone, standing out against my pale complexion. “It’s beautiful.”

He winked. “Just like you.”

The sound of the loudspeaker coming on brought my attention back to realize exactly what I was doing. “All passenger on flight 214. The plane to Los Angeles will be boarding now.” A man tired voice stated and the loudspeaker clicked off.

My mom gave me one last parting hug along with Jaxon doing the same and they left. I picked my duffel bag from the ground and walked to the front where they made me walk through the metal detector and give them my duffel bag. I kept my messenger bag. I pulled my ticket out of the front pocket and gave it to the woman in front. She did something to it behind the counter and handed it back to me. “Your plane is right over there. Just go through the double doors.” She said with a smile.

I gave her a smile back and followed here instructions. When I got there I walked through the plane and sat down in my seat. An older woman in a pencil skirt and blazer, holding a briefcase was the only other companion in my seats. She gave me a smile, which I returned.

I pulled my iPhone out with my headphones. I put them in and began listening to Blood on the Dance Floor. Their music always cheering me up when I’m not to happy like today.

I drummed my finger along with the beat and closed my eyes. I never noticed someone drop a jacket off in the seat beside me and leave. When I opened my eyes, I saw a black leather jacket. It wasn’t until a moment later a guy came around the corner.

He had short but slightly tousled black hair, gorgeous blue eyes, and he was wearing a smile. He was wearing black skinny jeans, a white V neck t-shirt, and black Vans. I noticed he had a lip piercing and had a streak of black body paint smeared under his right eye in a straight line, His eyes also bearing make-up.

I know him from some where but where. My question was answered as another guy with longer black hair with the same make-up walked by and patted his shoulder. “Talk to you later, Andy.”

My eyes grew huge. Andy Biersack as in Black Veil Brides’ Andy Biersack! Andy nodded and picked the leather jacket up and sat beside me. I pulled the headphones from my ears and sat them in my lap with my phone. “Your Andy Biersack.” The obvious statement left my mouth before I could stop it.

I felt a blush creep up my neck. He laughed. “The one and only. Since we have the whole plane ride to sit by each other…what’s your name?”

I breathed a breath of air. “My name is Veronica. Veronica Grayson. But you can call me Ronnie.”

He smiled. “It’s nice to meet you, Veronica.” He said with a wink.
