I'm a Loaded Gun (Part 2)

Sick

Reyas POV

Honestly, I was still pretty pissed off at Andy. I had wanted to make the agreement so that both of us would have a better honeymoon. It wouldn’t be special if it was just any other day with sex. I was already getting kind of annoyed with the lack of intimacy, but not having Andy respecting what we both agreed to really aggravated me. I’d had no alone time with him in the past thirty some odd days and the first time we are alone he wants to bang. I rolled my eyes as I pulled a shirt over my head and tied my wet hair up in a messy bun. He was gonna pay for that shit. It was ridiculous the amount of effort it took not to do it just because of how fucking attractive he is. I pulled up my shorts and did the buckle just as Andy stepped out of the shower, the guilt showing in his eyebrows slightly pushed together and his mouth in a forced smirk on one side. I walked past him and went to my side of the counter and sat on the stool I brought in to sit while I got ready.

He must have sensed that I did not want to talk about it. As I was applying my foundation and blush, I could hear Andy rummaging through the closet. He stepped into the bathroom a moment later, wearing a pair of faded blue skinny jeans and a red flannel shirt rolled up to the elbow. I stopped what I was doing and started at his reflection across the mirror as he styled the front of his hair. He glanced over at me and then stopped, giving me a curious look. “What?”

I smirked, “I’ve never seen you in anything but black skinny jeans or leather pants. I didn’t even know you owned a pair of blue jeans, or a flannel.”

“Oh yeah. I actually have had these for a while, I just never really had the urge to wear them.”

“So now you do?” I questioned.

“I don’t know, I kind of think it’s time to change up my look a little bit.”

I just smiled and returned to my makeup.

He walked over to where I was sitting and kissed my temple, “Anything you need me to do before we go out?” he asked quietly.

“Crow and Whiskey need a food and water check, and probably need fresh litter,” I replied as I lined my top lid. If Andy actually cleaned the cat box, then he was sorry. There are few things he hates as much as having to clean the litterbox.

His face cringed, but he nodded his head and left the room.

I finished my makeup and grabbed a pair of socks before walking downstairs. Slipping on my Converse at the bottom of the stairs, I walked into the living room to see Crow standing on the back of the couch and Whiskey came trotting up to me. I picked her up, the fluff ball she is, and carried her into the kitchen, smiling as I saw Andy pouring new litter into the box. “Wow, you actually did it.”

He put the bag of litter back in the cabinet and washed his hands. “I wish we could just let them outside like a dog to do that.”

I held Whiskey in front of my face and cooed, “Do you want to go outside? Nooo you’d get sooo dirty and then daddy Andy would have to clean the whole house! Nooo you like the inside.” I gave her a couple of kisses on her furry head before setting her down.

“Where do you want to go?” he asked.

“I have to go to the store. Lunch first?”

He smiled, “How about the little sub shop?”

“Perfect.”

We both got in Andy’s Charger and he backed out of the driveway. I stared blankly out the window, taking in the beauty of the other houses in our subdivision. I turned to look out Andy’s window, smiling at the site of Siren’s Mustang and Ashley’s Harley in their driveway. My eyes flashed down the throttle as Andy’s hand took mine in his. I looked up to his face, still facing forward to the road. His jaw looked strained.

He sighed deeply, “Listen, Rey. I’m sorry about what happened. Really,” he said glancing over to me, “I am sorry. I’ve just been really stressed in the studio and I want to say that it’s just the fact that I’m a guy, but that’d be the easy way out. I was just being a dick. It’s just hard to go from having sex all the time to quitting completely. I just don’t want us to not talk about it. We’ve gotten through a lot together and I think we’ve learned that not talking and just being pissed off at ourselves or each other is disastrous. I want us to be open with each other and honest at all times.”

I was taken back. I blew out the air I was holding in. “Wow.” I rubbed my thumb on his hand. “I don’t know what to say.”

He raised my hand to his lips and placed a gentle kiss on my knuckles. “That’s fine. I just wanted to tell you.”

As the car halted at the red light ahead of us, I leaned across the center console and placed a gentle kiss on his cheek, “Well, thank you for telling me.” I sat back into my seat as we accelerated down the road.

“What time is the cookout tomorrow?” Andy asked.

“I think one. I’m not sure. I’ll text Siren later.”

Andy and I went into our favorite little sub shop and ate a quiet lunch before we went to the grocery store. I hadn’t been shopping for a few weeks so our pantry was low, and I had a long list of things we needed. I pulled up the list on my phone as Andy and I walked hand in hand into the little natural’s store I shopped at. Everything was pesticide, herbicide, and preservative free, and most of the products were recycled or ecofriendly. He grabbed a cart and followed me down the first aisle so I could get cleaning stuff and paper products: Toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, dusting spray, and dish detergent. I turned the corner and noticed Andy wasn’t behind me. I peaked around and saw two teenage girls taking to Andy. Obviously, they were BVB fans. I went ahead and grabbed what I needed from the second aisle before returning to the first aisle. Andy was signing a phone case. I quietly walked up and put the items in the shopping cart.

“Have you guys met Reya?” Andy asked as he flashed a smile at me.

“OH MY GOD. You’re the Reya? I’m Savannah! You are like one of my fav singers! I was totally down when Prescription Poison broke up!” one of the girls said.

“Oh wow, it’s been awhile since I’ve even thought about the old band. We all just moved on to different things in our lives! Siren and I moved out here to be with Andy and Ashley, and I think most of the old band is still back in Illinois. It’s really nice to meet you guys!” I said.

The other girl, named Clair, glanced down and her eyes got big. They flashed up to Andy’s face. “Is…is that a ring?” she asked shyly.

I looked down at my hand and smiled as I looked at my engagement ring, “Andy…you still haven’t mentioned that to your fans yet?”

His smile grew wide, “I liked having a secret for once.”

“So you guys are getting married?!” Savannah squealed.

“Yep,” Andy said as he leaned over to put his arm around my waist. “This fall.”

I smiled at the thought, “I’m also recording an EP right now with Siren that should be out the end of August. So you guys will get new music from us. Andy’s helped me write on some of it.”

Both of their eyes lit up like Christmas trees. Andy and I each gave the girls a hug and I signed Savannah’s phone case for her. We said goodbye to the girls and continued our shopping. I got some cereal, fruits, and bread. Andy, of course, came back with a bunch of chips and junk food. I gave him an angry face, but his puppy face won. I was as weak to junk food as he was. My phone started buzzing. As Andy took the cart from me, I looked down to a message from Siren.

Siren: Hey, it’s Ash. Si’s really sick right now. I don’t want to leave her but I don’t know what to do.

My eyebrows furrowed as I furiously typed back.

Me: Like throwing up?

Siren: Yeah, she says its morning sickness but it’s been going on since 5 this morning.

Me: I’ll have Andy bring me by. I’m at the store now. Give me 15min.

Siren. Thx

Andy began stacking things on the belt.
“Hey I’ll be right back, I need a few things,” I said. I jogged down the aisle, grabbing Tums, Ginger-ale, and a pack of tic tacs at the register. “Sorry, Ash texted me. Siren’s sick and he didn’t want to leave her and he doesn’t know what to do. Can you drop me off so our cold stuff doesn’t spoil? I want to get over there now.”

His face hardened in concern, “Sure. Is it bad?” he said as he handed the cashier his debit card.

“I don’t know. She’s been throwing up nonstop, I guess.”

“Ick,” he made a cringed expression.

We hurried out to the car and loaded the groceries. Andy sped down the highway that lead to our subdivision. He turned down our road and turned the corner a few blocks before our house that lead to Ash and Siren’s house. He parked in the driveway and reached behind my seat to hand me the bag for Siren. I gave him a quick kiss before speed walking to the front door.

Once inside, I could hear vomiting before I even shut the door. I couldn’t help but mentally cringe. The sound of puking makes my body do weird things. I took a deep breath and walked up the stairs to their master bedroom. I found Siren laying on the tile floor in a ball, rag on her flushed face, and Ashley holding one hand, the other rubbing her back.

“Oh, Siren,” I cooed as I walked over and kneeled beside her. “Have you eaten or drank anything today?”

She shook her head no.

“She drank a little tea this morning, and nibbled at a muffin but it’s all come back up,” Ash said quietly.

I was instantly concerned, “Siren, you have to drink something.” I got up and went down to the kitchen, grabbing the bag I left at the door. I poured some ginger ale into a glass with little ice chunks in it. I also grabbed a straw. I returned to the bathroom, Siren’s head now resting on Ash’s thigh. I sat down next to her. “I brought you some stuff.” I placed the glass on the tile beside her.

Ash nudged the glass over to her face and held the straw up to her mouth. She put her lips on the end and took a little sip. I heard the front door open and feet on the stairs. A pair of hands lightly squeezed my shoulders. I reached a hand up to hold one of Andy’s.

“I want to go to the bed, Ashy,” Siren whispered.

Ash nodded and stroked back a loose strand of her hair. He picked her up in his arms and carried her to their bed. A small plastic bucket was already on her nightstand. I walked over and placed the package of tic tacs in her hand and the glass of ginger-ale on beside the bucket. I took Andy’s hand and led him out of their master bedroom and into the open upstairs living area. I led the way to one of the three white doors at the end of the hall. One was the bathroom, one was Ashley’s music room, and the one I opened the door to, was the nursery Siren and I had been working on the past few weeks while the boys were in the studio. Andy hadn’t seen this room since they first moved in. Originally it was a light beige with white carpeting. We had painted the walls a pale green, and I painted a glow in the dark mural on the ceiling with stars and animals. They looked shiny silver against the white ceiling. Siren had bought a beautiful cherry wood crib with a matching dresser and a light grey changing table. Ashley had a rocking chair from his parents sitting in the corner, and we had a set of shelves we build to hold baskets with different baby things in them.

Andy smiled as he looked around, “It looks great.”

“This is what we’ve been up to while you guys worked,” I said.

Andy reached over and pulled my hip into his, wrapping his arms around me. “I’m excited about this, one day. I’m just glad we waited for this.” He placed a kiss on my temple.

“Me too.” We walked back to the living area and sat on the couch.

Ashley tiptoed out of the bedroom and gently closed the door behind him. He let out a deep sigh as he collapsed on the couch across from us. I could see the bags under his eyes. “She’s asleep.”

I looked deeply into Ashley’s eyes, “Ash, this is really serious. She’s getting dehydrated, and that’s not good for her, or the baby.”

“I know,” he sighed.

“If she doesn’t get anything down by tonight she might need to go get IV’s. That’s what happened to me when we first moved here. I got some virus and couldn’t stop throwing up and I collapsed. I had to go get a few IV’s and they gave me medication to help me stop vomiting,” I pushed.

“She’s right, Ash. This isn’t something to play with,” Andy added.

Ashley looked defeated, “She just doesn’t think it’s that serious. She thinks it’s just bad morning sickness. I’m going to call her doctor if she starts throwing up again.”

“Do you want us to hang around awhile?” Andy asked.

“Have you even eaten today, Ash?” I asked.

He seemed to think for a moment.

“How about I go make you something to eat? That way you can stay up here with Siren, and if you need me have Andy come down and get me.” I glanced over to Andy, who seemed to silently agree. I stood up and made my way down to the kitchen. I put a pan on the stovetop and got some ingredients out of the fridge. I put bacon in the pan to fry, and an egg on the side. With some ham and vinaigrette on some bread, I placed the bacon and egg on top and got out a plate. I carried the sandwich up the stairs and put it on Ashley’s lap.

His eyes grew big at the sandwich, “Oh my god, what is this?”

“Ham, bacon, egg, cheese, and a vinaigrette I whipped up,” I said with a smile.

Ashley took a monstrous bite, and closed his eyes as he hummed. “Andy, how are you not fat with a woman like that in your house?”

Andy let out a laugh, “Well we used to just burn out all the calories, but I might get fat now.” He had a smirk on his face. I punched his shoulder. “I’m kidding!”

I smiled back at him, and couldn’t help but giggled at the joke. The air had finally lightened. Ashley was obviously enjoying his sandwich, and Andy and I shared a quick kiss.

That’s when I heard the crash.
