I don't know. I just thought of it that way because he's been taking care of her for so long, so it makes his feelings for her even stronger since he saw the process of her growing up.

yeah, it was adding to the story about the mother and father and then andy growing close to her because he took care of her.

Also Andy is someone that she is able to look up to, but if it bothers you that much you can always change the story for yourself. But I enjoy the story the way I wrote it and I have seen many others like it this way also. But thank you for the suggestion, maybe sometime I will make a story where they are closer in age.
