Take My Hand and Run Away, Sweetheart

When You Slip Up...

-Andy's Point of View-

After I was dressed I made my way down to the courtyard.

I could see my mother and father sitting in the garden with another person.

It took me a moment to realize that it was a girl. She had dark brown hair that fell in curls down her back. She wore a pale blue dress and her hands were crossed in her lap.

When her eyes laid on me, a smile spread across her pale pink lips and she stood on her feet.

"You must be Prince Andrew," she said staring at me with her dark brown eyes.

"Yes..." I said quietly as I watched her with careful eyes.

She had a look to her that I really couldn't explain. It was taunting, yet at the same time almost graceful.

She still wasn't my true love though...

"I'm Princess Scout," she said curtsying.

I glared over at my parents and my mother's eyes were watching me with hope and determination.

"It's nice to meet you, princess. Why don't we take a walk around the garden?" I said only to please my parents and their greedy gazes.

She nodded her head and I wrapped my arm around hers and we started heading towards the fountain which was in the center of our garden.

"So this is the Biersack kingdom that I've heard so much about?" Scout said with a slight sigh in her voice.

"It's not all what everyone makes it out to be," I said letting go of her arm and walking over to a rose bush. I pulled a petal off a dainty pink rose and let it fall onto the walkway. I always pulled at least one petal off because I was told one time that it would symbolize future luck.

"Well you and I could change that," she said with a certain spark in her brown eyes.

"Listen," I snapped at her. I didn't mean to sound rude, but I had to get a point across. "You seem great and all, but we're just not fit to be together. I can't take a queen by my side that I do not love. Do you understand?" I stared at her after finishing and she looked at me as if I was speaking nonsense.

"You shall never marry if you're looking for something like that," Scout said crossing her arms across her chest and frowning at me.

"Everyone can fall in love. Why can't I?" I muttered sitting down next to the glistening fountain.

"Royalty doesn't fall in love. It's almost like seeing a blue moon," she said softly.

There was a moment of silence between us and she whispered softly, "If you choose me then I'll try to be your true love."

"No," I said standing up and walking away. She seemed too desperate to be married anyways.

I hate it when I have to tell someone that they're not worthy of me. It really just seems like I'm not worthy for them when you see the kind of life I've been living for the past sixteen years....

I ran through the woods as branches and twigs slapped at my arms until they were stinging and burning crimson red.

Ashley was already leaning up against the oak with an apple in his hands.

He took a bite out of it before realizing that I was standing there.

"Andrew," he said staring at me.

"Hello, Ashley," I said pulling a stray leaf out of my black hair.

"What happened to you?" he asked gesturing to my arms.

"I was running," I said sitting down on a pile of leaves.

"From what?" he asked before taking another bite out of his apple.

"Everything. I hate that place. They tried to put me with another princess, but I said no."

"Because she didn't have the type of spark that I had when I met..." I stopped myself when I realized what I was saying.

"Who?" he asked watching me with his chocolate brown eyes.

Fuck. Don't tell me I just slipped up.
