Blair's POV
I sprinted to Jakes side. The side of Audrey's face and neck were covered with blood. A fresh wound above her hip was oozing blood too. Her hands were tied over her head to the pipe jutting out of the ceiling. Her eyes were closed peacefully. Jake reached up with a knife in hand, he was obviously panicking. He sawed at the course rope binding her hands, tears and determinatioin painting his face. The war paint had faded and bled from him crying. He grunted as he continued to try to cut the rope. When he finally broke it, he cradled his arms, dropping to the floor with her. The rope fell to the floor beside them as he held her body close to his chest.
"Audrey? Audrey, please! Its me, Jake. Audrey?" he turned to me. "She's alive. Blair? Blair, please, heal her!" He said frantically. His eyes were wide and full of tears as he turned to me.
"I can't in here, Jake! We need to get her out! Now!" I tugged on his arm.

He stood, adjusting, Audrey's body to carry in his arms. We ran down the hall, bodies now all cut free from the hall of torture, joining with the rest of the wild ones escaping. We formed a large march. Many wild ones were either supporting weaker rebels or carrying the bodies of the tortured dead. The doorway was ahead...right as the shadows appeared in front of us.

They looked pissed...Jake looked at me and passed Audrey to me. I couldn't hold her, so I kneeled protectively over her form as I held her. Jake strode to the front line. I breathed a sigh of relief as I saw CC step next to him. He was safe, and seemed to be unhurt. The stare down commenced again, until a shadow struck his staff forward, and the real fight began. Wild ones and shadows attacked, grappling in small scraps everywhere. I yelled as I saw a shadow run up behind, hands on either side of Jakes neck. He struggled to get out of its grasp, only to see Andy, out of no where, run up and lunch thr masked shadow right in the face, knocking it to its feet. Jake lifted a dagger and struck it down into it's chest, as it released a shivering high pitched scream. Even the monsters in my nightmares couldn't compare to the horrific sound from its throat. I flinched and cowarded as a Shadow came running to me. CC saw me and run over, jumping onto the shadows back and smashing his fist into the side of its mask. My eyes were wide in fear and shock as his head smashed in, as if CC had just punched a piece of foil. This black goo began to surface as CC jumped off and it slumped onto the ground. He stepped over it, pulling me close.

Tears began to run down my face. He picked up Audrey and we ran out of the broken metal doors at once protected the tower, other wild ones following us. I ran and ran. Finally we all stopped, gasping for breath for our burning and aching lungs. CC stopped, bending over to get air in front of me as he layed Audrey down on the cracked ground of the desert. I hurried over, my body still shaking from the exertion. I turn back, the tower barely visible in the distance. I fell to my knees beside Audrey. I placed my tremoring hands on Audrey's side and shoudler. I closed my eyes, feeling the warmth in my palms. I thought of it like a current, flowing it gently into Audrey. I finally could see the full extent of her wounds. Her head was split open on the corner of her forehead, blood stuck and dry to her face and neck. Her side was now almost crusted over, covered in dry blood. Her wrists were both cut into horrifically. She had rope burn on both arms and her skin was cut down at least four or five layers into the skin.

I released what I could, feeling the energy drain from myself. I opened my eyes as Jinxx kneeled beside CC, placing a hand gently on Audrey's arm. I stopped, I didn't have the ability to do much else's here. The wounds on her wrists looked a bit higher, not cut so deeply or drastically. Her head wound closed a little and her side stopped bleeding. I sat back in the dirt. CC walked around to me, pulling me tightly into his muscular chest. I buried my face into his combat vest, feeling his long black hair gently tickle my skin. I wrapped my arms around his as I finally let some of the tears out.
"I'm so happy you're OK," he whispered.
"Thank you for saving me," I choked back through my quiet sobs.
He pulled back, arms still around me. "Anytime." He leaned forward and connected our lips, pushing strongly and passionately against mine. We parted and held each other for a few moments.

I heard someone yelling my name. I let go of CC turning to see Jake leaned over Ella's body, gently shaking her. I jumped up, holding CC s hand and dragging him across the sand with me. Jakes eyes were full of desperation. I looked down at Ella. I placed a hand on the left side of her chest. Her pulse was very low and weak.
"Jake...there's not much I can do," I said apologetically.
"Please! Just try! I'm BEGGING you, Blair. Please."
"I...I'll try. I doubt I can do anything. I had to help Audrey." I put my hands on Ella's neck and over her heart. I pushed energy into her. I could feel the toll on my own body kicking in. My face tightened as I felt the energy flow drain and slow. CC grabbed me as my hands fell rom Ella and I slumped backward, exhausted. "I...can't do anything else, Jake. I'm...exhausted. I'm out."
With tears in his eyes, he leaned down and kissed her tenderly once on the lips. Ella's eyes barely opened, obviously she was confused and barely conscious. her eyes glanced around with no chance of direction.
"Angel please stay with me." Jakes voice cracked.
"Angel...I'll be...your angel," I could very faintly hear from her voice.
"You are my angel, my angel on earth!" he cried.
"I'll be...your angel...in-in heaven."
"Don't leave me alone baby!" he was pleading, tears streaming down both sides of his face.
"You're not alone...ill be...watching." Her eyes began to close. "I love you....be...ha-ppy...be...be...my...mm..." Her eyes completely closed as Jake pulled her face into his chest, sobbing hysterically.
"I love you Ella, I do. I love you baby," he choked through sobs.
I placed a hand on Ella's neck. Her pulse was so weak.

"Jake...you should...you now. Help her. Make her pain go away," I said gently as I placed a hand on his arm. He looked up at me with his eyes red and puffy. Slowly nodding his head, he focused his energy, calming himself. Ella caught a sharp breath, and released it, not to take another. He layed her body down. CC stood from beside me, where he embraced Jake. I felt so sorry for him. He'd been on an emotional roller coaster today. Andy came over, hand in hand with Juliet, both obviously happy, but the seriousness of this moment caught them as they approached. I tear slid down Juliet's face, and Andy hold her close. At least Andy got his happy ending. Juliet stepped away from Andy and also embraced Jake. I turned back, Jinxx was still beside Audrey, who was still unconscious.

i left the guys to stay with Jake, and instead joined Jinxx in the sand next to Audrey. I sat cross legged and hugged Audrey, wishing for her to please stay alive. We had at least twelve dead with us. I don't want to have to carry my dead best friend across the desert. "Please, Audrey. Please, live for me."
