The Adopted

Hannah P.O.V.

Storm sat on the other couch, next to Jake and Ella, while I sat across from her next to CC.

"So, Storm, tell us about yourself. We're trying our best to get to know Hannah and you two seem close." Sammi suggested. Storm was sweet enough to sign everything anybody was saying, so I didn't have to keep looking around.

"What do you want to know?" She asked and signed.

'Jake: How did you and Hannah meet?' She signed. She put the persons name in front so I knew who was talking, which in large groups like this was incredibly helpful so I didn't have to look around the room every three seconds.

"'We met at the park one day and became friends when we were 11. She would visit me everyday after school at the park. I learned sign language a few months later so we could talk easier.'" She explained.

'Jinxx: Speaking of school, where do you two go to school? I mean, you're both just 15, right?'

"'Yes sir, Hannah was home-schooled at the orphanage and graduated early and I dropped out.'" Storm snuck and I love you in from time to time and would smile at me when there was a lull in the conversation.

"'Sammi: So, do you two have boyfriends or something, because I think it would be nice for us to meet them too.'" Storm cracked a coy smile at Sammi and I gave a slight giggle at her.

"What's so funny?" She asked.

"Storm is a raging homosexual." I chuckled.

'Andy: So you only like girls?'

"'Yeah, is that a problem?'" I could tell by her sharpened hand motions, she was getting defensive. The problem with Storm is that she has anger issues with a short temper and has been known to be violent from time to time. She's never hit me and never will, but she has hit other people. That was one of her, and still is, one of her biggest concerns that she'll hit me, but I trust that she won't, that she has better control of herself than that.

'Andy: No, I was just curious. It doesn't matter to me who someone wants to be with.'

Soon, after everyone got through with their questions, they broke off into their own conversations as Storm and I had our own silent conversation.

'See baby? They don't hate me, why don't you tell them?' She signed with a worried expression.

'You're not their newly adopted daughter. They could send me back to the orphanage, I hate it there.' I replied.
S: 'Whatever, you're being silly, I don't think they would ever do that to you.'
H: 'I guess you could be right.'
S: 'I'm always right... I love you!'
H: 'I love you too....Hey I wrote a new song, you wanna look over the lyrics to it?'
S: 'Of course, baby!'

We both got up and went into the music room and sat at the piano. I showed her the lyrics I had written so far and I began to play the opening notes for what I think should be called 'A Drop in the Ocean'. (A Drop in the Ocean by Ron Pope)

Jinxx P.O.V.

I watched as Storm and Hannah ran off in the direction of the music room amd everyone looked to me and Sammi.

"What?" I asked.

"You don't think their relationship is a little...close?" Jake asked.

"What do you mean?" Sammi questioned. The piano began to play softly in the back.

"I googled some of the hand signs they were doing and the one the both did before they ran off, it looks like the rock n roll sign with a thumb, it means 'I love you'. You don't find that strange?" Lauren said, putting her phone away.

"Girls tell each other they love each other all the time." Sammi shrugged, I nodded in agreement.

"Whatever, but I'll put $20 in that says their together." Ella claimed. Everyone, but Sammi and I, agreed.

A few minutes later, we heard singing. We all creeped down the hall to find Hannah singing and playing the piano. After watching to almost the end of the song, we all walked back down the hall before they noticed us.

"Who knew she could sing?" I pondered.

"Who knew she could sing a love song?" CC laughed.

"Yep, I'm gonna have $20 from you two soon and to clarify, I mean $20 from each of you." Ella joined in on the laughter.

"Whatever, they are not together." I argued.

"Who's together?" Storm asked from behind us. I turned to find both of them standing there.

"No one...Storm, we're having a movie night tonight. Your more than welcome to stay. It might even help Hannah get used to everything." Sammi suggested. CC and Andy and their girls left for the evening, but promised Hannah they would be back to take her to breakfast. The rest of us settled in for a few movies.
