The Adopted

Jinxx P.O.V.

"Why don't you play something for us?" I suggested, we had just finished dinner as a family for the first time and the guys were still here with us. She smiled, but then looked puzzled.

"Do you have an amp?" She questioned. I nodded and we all walked inside. Jake grabbed her shoulder as she re-attached Riley's harness. She looked up at him with curious eyes.

"Do you need a guitar?" Jake asked. She smiled lightly and shook her head 'no'.

"But, if you have a bass, I could play that too." She suggested. Ash walked into the instrument as Riley and Hannah went upstairs.

Jake and I set up a small amp in the living room. Soon Ash and Hannah came back, but Riley didn't, she must have left her upstairs. Ash had his bass that he kept here and was helping her plug it in while she got her guitar set up on the other side. She got everything set up and took off her shoes and socks. When she pulled out her guitar, both, Jake and my mouth was set agape.

"That's a sweet guitar." Jake muttered. Hannah plugged in her guitar and placed her foot close to the amp.

"You guys set the volume." She said politely. Once I put the volume on an appropriate level, I gave her the 'go ahead' sign.

She smiled and played one of the most intricate pieces I've ever heard anyone play before, even Jake looked impressed. When she was done all our mouths were on the ground, but she just unplugged the amp and stepped in front of Ashley, who gently gave her the bass. She plugged it in and put her foot back. She played the bass part to 'The Legacy' and was perfect.

"I didn't have to show off like that, but I just wanted to show Ashley that he had a little competition now." She shot a set of finger guns.

"Hannah, that was absolutely amazing!" I smiled at her with a small clap as she looked at Sammi and I. She did a small bow and sat on the couch beside CC.

"Thanks, my g-. My friend, Storm, said that I was really good." She explained, stammering a little.

"Friend? Storm? I wanna meet her!" CC said excitedly, tapping her shoulder. She looked to Sammi, who smiled and nodded. Hannah smiled and pulled out her phone, quickly texting someone and putting her phone back. Hannah just sat and stared out the window.

"Guys stop being so quiet." She joked, not looking back at us. We all gave a light hearted laugh. Lauren tapped her shoulder.

"So I take it, your okay with making jokes about you being deaf?" She asked.

"Yeah, it's not like I can change it anyway. I do the best I can with it. I know my speech is a little weird, but other than that, no one would ever know anything was different about me." Hannah chuckled.

I was happy that Hannah could be so forth coming with us and say those kinds of things, but I don't know how well she was handling everything mentally. I know that some things can be trying on a person, especially a child. I just hope that she's always this open with us. I heard skateboard wheels and saw a blue headed girl appear on my porch. Hannah smiled at me and took off running.

"Storm!" I watched as she attacked, who I can only assume is Storm, in a hug. The blue headed girl laughed and spun her around.

"Guys this is Storm, Storm this is my family, Sammi, Jinxx, Ella, Jake, Lauren, CC, Juliet, Andy, and Ashley." Hannah smiled as she went around the room introducing her to everyone. Storm's eyes widened and she looked to Hannah amd started doing rapid movements with her hand. Hanna smiled and did some hand signs back at her. I tapped Hannah's shoulder, making her look at me.

"Is she deaf too?" I asked.

"No sir. I just learned sign language so I could talk to Hannah easier." Storm said to me. We all nodded and let them sit down.

"So Storm, tell us about yourself." Sammi said.
