The Mark of Black

The Mark of Black

Labbie felt her chest hurt as she was forced awake by a dream where she was falling. She sat up on her bed and stared off into the darkness of the basement. She felt this pain a few times during the years growing up and when she mentioned it to her aunt. Her aunt's face drained of color everytime so only the recent years she kept the information to herself. She rolled out of her bed to go get some water dressed in a red tank top and pink sleep shorts.

Her blond hair tied up into a messy bun on her head it wobbled when she jogged up the stairs to the kitchen. She froze at the door way to see her aunt sleeping soundly on the kitchen table with stacks of books and items from her aunt's garden surrounding her. Labbie tip toed around the table to the kitchen sink and snatched her up a glass to fill with water. She about dropped it when a sound of metal hit the ground behind her but lucky she pulled it close to her chest out of fear. She turned around to look at her aunt when a something reflecting the light of the kitchen caught her eye.

She walked around the table to reach down for it when everything went dark around her, she let out a scream of surpise and was floating backwards with the cup above her head. The space surrounding her was cut off from the kitchen as she looked at her aunt sleeping still but she couldn't hear Labbie. She looked at the ground and what was causing her to float was a pure black amulet with a massive white jewel inside of it. It was vibrating and floating towards her when she finally reached out and grabbed it. The kitchen disappeared and she was floating in darkness until she heard someone speaking She was blinded by some light momentarily but when she could refocus her eyes she was staring back at herself.

She reached forward to touch her reflection in a mirror before falling through it onto the ground or she though. As her cup zipped off on its own into the darkness and she was frailing in the air for a few minutes not sure what to do. Her hand still tightly gripping the amulet as she floated around moving her arms rapidly trying to keep from crashing to the ground. She heard footsteps echoing closer to her as stopped frailing around and floated frozen with her eyes squeezed shut. Her breath became shallow as she felt someone stop walking and stand right next to her.

A sound of purring caused her to peek down to see a black and white cat staring right at her. It was purring as it watched her with curiosity glimmering in its bright green eyes. She let out a breath of relief and felt something behind her neck inhale deeply. She shot forward with her hands on her neck and turned to look at a man standing there with a curious smile on his face. He didn't seem dangerous but something was off about him. He had wavy black hair and he was beautiful she had to admit to herself as she looked him over once. His eyes were the clearest sky blue she had ever seen.

Surrounded by thick black eyelashes, his lips pale pink pulled up into a spine chilling smile. He wore a loose white long sleeve sweater and gray suit pants that covered his long legs. He was bare footed and staring right at her when someone appeared right next to him, her jaw about dropped as the musician from her school walked up to the man. His eyes focused entirely on the man as he opened his mouth to speak. "Lucifer what did I tell you about coming into my house asshole!?" The musician aggressively spoke to the beautiful man.

Her heart about exploded at the comment as the musician stood in front of Lucifer glaring at him. "You were always rude weren't you boy?" Lucifer spoke beautifully back to the musician. Labbie felt something rub up against her leg and she couldn't help it as a scream bubbled up her throat and out of her mouth. Both men jumped at the noise as they both heard the loud sound of Labbie crashing to the ground. The black and white cat was curled up on top of Labbie's stomach purring as it jumped up there after she had her little freak out.

"Explain right now why my cat is floating did you curse him?!" The musician turned around fiercely to accuse Lucifer. Who held his hands up defensively before shaking his head with a grin on his face. Labbie was confused what did he mean by his cat floating it was clearly sitting on her stomach after scaring the crap out of her first. "Hey um you mind getting your cat off of me sir?" Labbie asked as she sat up reaching for the feline. The black amulet fell from her hands as she held the black and white cat up in shock filled her to the core.

The two men were staring right at her, one was amused and the other in shock. Her eyes became clouded as her mind became blank and she went unconscious. She was floating again as her body was taken over by a spirit, her blond hair unraveling from its messy bun. Her beautiful brown eyes became solid black and a look of disappointment shrouded her facial features.

"Ebony... You need to stop. I'm no longer alive so please find happiness again and repent." the detached voice of Ashley Black echoed eerily around the room. Her body started glowing along with the black amulet and she warped from the dimension back to the human realm.

"Bastard! You really have the nerve to mock me as I am by faking her sadness... I will never walk alone again like you wanted for I am Andy Black. The Savior." The musician screamed up to the heavens as Lucifer stood by with a smile so dark it distorted his beautiful face.
