Hear Me Now

I Just Want To Be Loved By You

I woke up the next morning to the smell of maple syrup and the giggles of an extremely happy little girl. A smile appears on my lips as I get out of bed, grab a hoodie and head out of the room and into the kitchen.

Pulling the Black Veil Brides hoodie over my head, I walk into the kitchen just in time to see Cherokee and Ashley dancing around and singing How Far I’ll Gofrom Moana. The chuckle that escapes my lips is enough to gain the attention of the rockstar; who instantly stops singing the Disney song.

“Busted, Purdy.” I smile as my daughter comes running over to me, completely covered in pancake batter, and wraps her arms around my legs. “You’re a mess my little Cherry Bomb.” I laugh, picking her up and kissing her. “You’re corrupting your uncle this morning?”

“Of course.” She giggles. “He’s better at singing Disney songs than daddy.”

“Your father can’t keep a tune.” I joke. “How about you put on something more his style? I’d hate for him to believe he lost his street credit.”

“Fine.” She gives me an over dramatic sigh. “I know what to play!” I let her down and she runs over to Ashley’s phone and we’re soon greeted by the sound of No One Like You by Scorpions; my ringtone for Ashley.

“This is my ringtone for you.” I admit, laughing. “So I guess she must associate this song with you.”

“Better than my ringtone for you.” He chuckles before going over to his phone and playing a small clip of Porn Star Dancing by My Darkest Days. I gasp before smacking him. “What? We sang with while doing karaoke.”

“My song is somewhat sweet,” I start. “Your’s is far from it. We performed many songs drunk, why is this one so memorable?”

“Honestly? I have no idea.” He replies, laughing. “It’s been your ringtone for awhile, I’ve never even thought about changing it. But if I do, I’ll make sure it’s a ‘sweet song’ just for you.” He uses air quotes around sweet song.

“You’re an asshole.” I roll my eyes, smacking him in his chest. “But thanks for letting us crash here last night. Getting a hotel for only one night didn’t make sense.”

“No problem.” He says. “I love having you and Cherokee here. So where is your apartment located?”

“You love me right?” I ask, earning a look from him. ‘Like really love me?”

“Where are you moving to?” He asks, concerned. “Please tell me you’re in a somewhat good neighborhood in L.A?”

“I’m moving two doors down.” I tell him with a smile. I can see a twinkle in his eyes and a smile on his lips before he sweeps me into a huge ass hug. “Someone’s happy.”

“Hey, I get to see my best friend and goddaughter more.” He laughs. “Why wouldn’t I be happy?”

“Moving back to the states is a good thing right?” I ask him. “This is what’s going to be good for Cherokee, right?”

“You’re her mother, you know deep down what’s going to be good for her.” He replies. “For selfish reasons, I think moving back here is great. But only you can decide if it’s a good idea in the long run.”

“I think this will be great for her.” I admit outloud for the first time since breaking up with Kalle. “Living in L.A will be great for her. She’ll get to see her favorite uncle more often. Plus L.A was always my favorite city and now I get to share that with her.”

“So what’s first on your agenda besides moving in?”

“Beach time with my favorite rockstar…”
