Cabin by the Sea

Well Come With Me To A Place By The Sea,

Andy Biersack

“This place is...quaint.” Ashley says as we walk into the very dusty and dated bungalow. “When was the last time this place had anyone in it?”

“Not since last summer, apparently.” I reply. “Management said this place only rents in the summer and the elderly couple that usually rents it out passed away in each’s arms or some other Notebook like ending. The renters say we can make this ours. They’re pretty laid back up here.”

“This place is perfect.” Peyton says, earning a questioning look from Ashley. “This place is so far away from your lives in L.A. This is the perfect place to relax and finally enjoy yourselves. Seriously when was the last time any of you had a relaxing vacation away from music, fans and basically everything?”

“Your girl does have a point.” I state. “All of us need this place. There is only other bungalow on this property and the rental place states they are regulars and basically keep to themselves.”

“How far away is other cabin?” Ashley asks.

Before I can reply, we hear loud music coming from the dirt road. All three of us exchange looks before jogging outside; just in time to see a two Jeep Wranglers driving down the road to the bungalow closer to the beach. Both Jeeps are playing different music. The red one up front is blasting some kind of reggae influence music and the one behind it is blasting Asking Alexandria. Both Jeeps are filled to the brim of camping gear, coolers and various bags. And they both have several surf boards attached to their roofs.

“I guess the neighbors are here.” Ashley states.

“And it looks like they came to party.” Peyton smiles. “This place just got a whole lot better.” This statement earns a smile from Ashley and his nod of approval.

“I’ll call CC, Jake and Jinxx.” I tell them. “We just found our perfect vacation spot. This summer might just be fun.

I kill the engine just as Hip Hop Misfits by Dirty Heads starts to play. I grab my phone and keys before jumping out of my Jeep followed by my constant compian, Jerzey, my 3 year old pit bull. I chuckle a bit as I watch him run straight to my sister’s car.

“So when are the other losers getting here?” She asks as she walks over to him with her bloodhound, Copper, right behind her. “I want to party as much as I possibly can before I have to head off to Georgia.”

“Aw, my baby sister following the family legacy and heading to UGA.” I fake cry. “I’m so proud.”

“Well I had to since you didn’t.” She points out. “We can’t both disappoint our parents.” She smirks. “But seriously when are they coming? This is the first time mom and dad allowed me to come out here with you guys.”

“You were a child when we started coming out here.” I point out. “Mom and Dad may be many things, but bad parents isn’t one. I wouldn’t want my youngest child to be around all that sex, drugs and rock n roll.” She just chuckles. “Besides, hanging out with a 10 year would have seriously cramped my style. Even now I’m not sure I should have invited you.” I joke, earning the flip of the bird from her. But to answer your question, the gang won’t be here until after Memorial Day. They want to spend that time with boys, family; the annoying things we like to avoid.”

“Maybe that’ll change this summer.” She offers. “Besides, it’s been a year. Mattie would’ve wanted you to move on. And maybe this summer, you’ll finally meet someone that’ll make you see that.”

“Maybe.” I smile. “Come on, let’s get this place ready for the best damn summer yet…”
