Andrew of Lea

2

The King's courtroom was filled with every loyal subject known in the kingdom. All were waiting in anticipation for the arrival of the royal family. Three swordsmen were standing before the empty thrones, standing valiantly. Andy took in a deep breath to prepare himself.
Just then, the giant doors opened and there King Jareth and Queen Josla walked in, hand in hand. The three swordsmen parted the path so they can pass.
Princess Emberlyn followed in suit. Andy watched as Princess Emberlyn strolled past him. He slightly smiled at the back of her. He always found her to be beautiful and felt pleasure everytime he looked at her. The rest of the subjects bowed to them as the three took their places on the thrones.
After a quiet moment, King Jareth stood up and spoke, "My loyal subjects, it brings me immense joy to mark this occasion as the day that these brave swordsmen will be sworn into knighthood of the royal court of Lea. They will become our defenders against our enemies." With that, King Jareth unsheathed his sword and held it gently in his hands, "With this sword, these men will be knighted by our beloved Princess Emberlyn."
Princess Emberlyn was surprised to hear this from her father and more surprised when her father handed her the sword, "Father..."
"You're going to be queen someday," King Jareth said to her. "Better you learn this now." Princess Emberlyn smiled and nodded as she carefully took the sword from her father's hands. She turned to the swordsmen and motioned the first swordsman to come foreword. The first swordsman came up to her and stood up straight.
"Kneel," Princess Emberlyn softly commanded.
The swordsman kneeled and Princess Emberlyn placed the blade on his shoulder, "I dubbed thee Sir Robert of Lea."
Once she removed the blade from his shoulder, Sir Robert stood up and smiled at the princess, "Thank you, Your Highness."
The crowd clapped their hands and expressed congratulatory looks as Sir Robert stepped down and joined his fellow swordsmen again. Princess Emberlyn then motioned the second swordsman to come foreword and had him kneel as well.
She placed the sword on him and decreed him Sir Georges of Lea. The crowd applauded again once again as he stepped down. It was finally Andy's turn and Princess Emberlyn motioned him to come foreword.
He stepped up and looked at the princess. Princess Emberlyn blushed a little and said, "Kneel." Andy obeyed her and kneeled before her. Princess Emberlyn placed the blade on his shoulder and said, "I dubbed thee Sir Andrew of Lea."
She removed the blade on his shoulder and he glanced up at her brown eyes, "Thank you, Your Highness."
Princess Emberlyn looked into his ocean blue eyes and blushed again. She quickly fought the blush off and smiled at him. Andy smiled back as he stood up. The crowd applauded for him as he stepped down.
King Jareth smiled at his daughter and then turned his attention to the people, "My people, your knights!"
The three knights turned to the subjects and received a big applause and lots of cheering. The king and queen clapped as well. Princess Emberlyn clapped also but it was only for Andy. She was so proud of him. He was worthy of being a knight.
Andy turned his head to the princess and smiled at her. Princess Emberlyn smiled back at him. King Jareth raised his hands to silence the crowd, "Let us all return to our duties, for tonight is another joyous celebration to be held!"
The subjects hurried out of the room and the knights followed. King Jareth and Queen Jolsa rose from their thrones and exit through another door. Princess Emberlyn and Andy stole one more glimpse of each other before they left separately.

@Red Phoenix77
Yeah, it does that sometimes. I don't know why. Hopefully it's okay now since I've checked it as unfinished. Thanks for letting me know.

Have you noticed that your story is checked off as being finished?
