This Thing We Call Love

Chapter 7

Yesterday was possibly the longest day of filming yet. There was so much that had had to be done and it was the most filming I’ve done in one day so far. I loved it, but it would have been better if Andy didn’t just have to exhaust me with his usual behavior.
I sighed.
Kicking the sheets to the floor, I decide that it’s definitely the room that’s so warm and not just the bed.
I’d been tossing and turning for a few hours now, too stuck up in my thoughts to drift away into the peacefulness of a deep sleep. I definitely needed to check up on some medication.
I take a deep breath, giving up on the thought of getting any sleep, before sitting up groggily.
Checking my phone, the light from the screen blinding me for a moment before my eyes adjust to the brightness, I see that it’s just 8:34, and I’m only supposed to be at the studio at 11:00. I groan, my eyes shutting tightly, before I sigh, standing up from my bed.
My throat felt parched, so I decided that I’d get a drink of water and go from there.
I made my way to the kitchen, my feet padding gently against the cold, wooden floor as I walked.
I sigh softly as I reach up into one of the cupboards, pulling a glass from inside it, before turning on the tap.
I let the water from the sink pour into the glass until it was about halfway full, turning the water off.
I walk back into my room, sipping on the water, the cold drink soothing my dry throat.
I sit the glass down and open all of the curtains and windows to invite in the fresh morning breeze and some sunlight into the house to liven it up some.
It would probably be good to stay up anyway. Maybe I could get a morning jog in to help me wake up some, instead of just going to the studio groggy and agitated.
Yeah, that sounds good.
I let out a soft sigh as I turn to one of the many windows, looking outside.
I’m truly blessed. I have this beautiful view, I’m in this beautiful city, and I have this beautiful house. And all as a bonus to living my dream. Today’s going to be a good day.
-----
Water bottle, check. Earphones, check. Phone, check. Sunscreen, check.
Pushing a cap over my head and adjusting my tights, I plug my earbuds into my ears and click on my workout playlist before doing some stretches to warm up my muscles until I’m finally off jogging around the area, getting to know the place. There’s barely any houses around here, mostly huge apartment buildings and some shops since we’re right by the beach. I notice a pet store and a few surf shops as I jog.
I look around, taking in the outdoors, but to my luck, I run straight into a stop sign pole and gasp. Pulling out my earphones, I rub my face.
As much as my front hurts, I look around quickly to see if anyone noticed. Thankfully there aren’t many people walking around right now.
“Are you okay?”
Spoke too soon.
I turn around, rubbing my forehead affectionately.
Great. It just had to be a cute guy!
My cheeks heat up, “Oh,” I laugh slightly, “Um, yeah, I am.”
He grins, teeth and all, before reaching out his hand, “CC.”
I smile back at him. God, he’s cute. His smile is probably the most adorable thing ever. His pretty brown eyes looked down at me, sparkling, a smile crinkling them adorably. His lips are pink and his teeth are so white, with a cute gap between the two front ones. His long black hair had been straightened and teased a little and shit, did he say something?
“CC,” I nod. I smile and so does he, probably noticing that I was admiring his features, “I’m Charlie.”
He shakes my hand again, “Nice to meet you.” He lets go of my hand, “So, morning jog?”
“It was, but then I decided to stop when I jogged right into that pole.”
He chuckles and walks beside me, “I haven’t seen you around here. I work at the pet store right over there and I normally know all the faces.”
“Yeah, I just moved in.”
“Nice,” He smiles again and I bite my lip, “From where?”
Oh, yeah, well I just moved here from New York to star in a movie amongst A-list stars, you know? The usual.
“New York. Work purposes,” I answer simply, which reminds me to check my phone and I see that it’s about time for me to head home and shower, “Which I should be getting to right now, actually.”
He smiles, “Okay. Well, it was nice chatting with you. You jog into poles every day?”
I laugh, “Yeah.”
“So I’ll be seeing you tomorrow, maybe?”
I nod, fighting the smile on my face, “Yeah, I’m sure you will.”
“Well, see you tomorrow, then,” He turns, seems to rethink it, before turning back to me, “You got a phone number so that I can make sure you don’t bump into a pole between now and tomorrow?”
I laugh, “Yeah.” We exchange phones, and I type my number into his, before he hands mine back to me and I do the same.
“Okay,” He grins, “Well, I’ll see you around Charlie.”
He walks backwards, waving, and bumps into a pole as well.
I laugh and so does he.
“Hey, that’s what you get,” I tease.
He chuckles, “You wanted that to happen. I’ll see you around, Charlie.”
Oh, definitely.
I head back home with a smile on my face.
Like I said, today’s going to be a good day.
-----
Surprisingly, I made it to the studio on time and didn’t let my road rage get too out of hand on the way here.
In the parking lot however, I had a little trouble with, well, parking. And of course, Asshole was parked opposite me, watching me with an amused smirk on his face as I struggled.
Once I’m pulled in properly, I watch in my mirrors as his shoulders shake with his quiet laughs and he slides his signature aviators on before walking my way.
I pretend to look for something in the car, but I can’t help glancing in the mirror, noticing how Olivia didn’t drive with him today.
He clears his throat and I mentally slap myself for forgetting the windows down.
I turn to face him, my long hair in my face, and I fix it up before sitting up straight.
He folds his arms on the door, leaning his head slightly forward, “Hi there.”
I frown, “Hi.”
“Well you look happy to see me,” He smirks and I roll my eyes. “You can drop the attitude,” He says, his smirk falling.
I sigh, “What do you want?”
“Are we still on for tonight?”
“Yeah.”
“Well I’ve got a sex scene later. So you’ll have to wait until after that,” He tells me.
I bite back a comment of how that shouldn’t be a problem since he wouldn’t last long anyway, but decide that I should probably just hold my tongue.
“Okay… Well, how long will that take?”
He smirks, “Hours. We’ll probably do it tomorrow as well.”
I grit my teeth but say nothing. A part of me wants to tell him to just shove him and his stupid acting pointers up his rich ass, but again, I shut my big mouth. After all, he could give me some useful tips and I’d be an idiot not to take it.
“Okay.”
“Is that fine with you?” He asks, but his tone is mocking and I know that he doesn’t really give a shit.
“Mhm,” I bitch smile at him, which only makes his smirk grow.
“I’m delighted,” He says, with no real meaning to his words, before turning and walking away.

Notes

CC finally makes an appearance! What do you guys think so far? What's your thoughts on how Andy's acting? Isn't CC the cutest?!
