More Than One

I think she needed to talk to Flynn or needed to tell him something i raced to the living room to try and find a phone. I found one on the way to the kitchen and frantically looked through it to see if Flynn popped up anywhere. She had 2 contacts. Me and Flynn. I dialed Flynn and waited. “Sara! I was just abou-” “Not quite. “ “Andrew? What’s wrong?” Hearing a stranger call me by my real name made me cringe but I stayed focussed on Lily. “Uh well i was here and then kattalina was then Lily was and she complained of her head hurting and that she was really tired and kept saying ,what I thought, was your name.Then she just fell asleep.” “Ok i’ll be over as soon as possible. Keep an eye on her and check her temperature. If she runs a fever write it down and i think Hunter put the thermometer in the bathroom drawer to the left.” I ran to the bathroom and shuffled through the drawer knowing Hunter would be pissed. “Ok i got it. I’ll call you if anything else happens.” I hung up and raced back to Lily. When i walked in she was drenched in sweat. I turned the thermometer on as i walked to the side of the bed and stuck it in her mouth. I anxiously waited for the small beep and nearly jumped when i did hear it. I checked it and saw it was 101.9. I did as Flynn said and searched the house for paper and wrote it down. I sat and waited for Flynn panicking every time she moved thinking she would randomly start having a seizure. I ran to the door when i hear Flynn knock and the door flew open. Flynn, unlike me seemed very calm. He walked in and went straight to her room. “Fever?” “Yes.” “How high?” I hand him the paper and he nodded. “So she complained of a headache and got tired?” “Yes.” “Hm” He sat the bag he had with him down and pulled out his own thermometer and a stethoscope and started to look her over himself. He then checked her blood pressure, eyes, heart rate, and...neck? Once he was done he typed something in his phone and started to pack up. “Well? Is she okay?” I ask impatiently. He nodds then straightens himself out to face me. “I think she goin through a lot of mental stress and that’s why she gets the headaches and she tires out. The only thing i can think of to do until we find out what’s goin on is to be supportive of her or him. Make sure she understands that she can talk to you about anything. Okay?” I nod my head and look back down to her. She already looked visibly a little better and I felt a weight on my chest being lifted. Damn i really am smitten by this girl. “How did you two meet?” Flynn asked following my gaze. I smiled. “We both met at a chinese restaraunt and i asked her out for tea one time. Ever since then we just kinda agreed to see each other at the Chinese place till i finally got the guts to ask to hang out with her again.” He surprised me when he grabbed my shoulder and made it where I was facing him again. In a stern, serious voice he said “ Sara has never opened up to anyone about her DID. Don’t be stupid and make it where she never will again.” I stared at him in disbelief. I would never do that to her why can’t Flynn understand that? Isn’t it healthy to talk about your disorders. That’s what my therapist said. He would always be so happy i told someone about it. Saying it’s super healthy and helps people understand that having a disorder doesn’t mean you’re weird or crazy. “Flynn you don’t understand I would ne-” “Prove it.” dumbfounded, all I could do was watch him grab his bag and leave. I looked down to Sara and my heart ached. Thinking of someone hurting her pissed me off and broke my heart. All i wanted to do was wrap her in my arms and tell her that everything was gonna be ok, that i’d protect her.
