In Which Jinxx Has A Brilliant Idea That Makes Andy Leave The Country

"So, this is them?" Andy asked, looking at the screen.

The 24-year-old had released his own, solo album titled 'The Shadow Side'. He had a plan to tour as 'Andy Black', his newest alter-ego. He needed an opener, and the rest of the boys had been dedicated to helping him find one. It had been Jinxx who had finally found the perfect opener. "They're new, not signed, mostly a cover band but recently started producing their own music. Their current fan base is albeit small, but dedicated, and steadily rising. These two," He pointed to two girls, one holding a ukulele and the other on drums. "Are cousins."

"Charlie South, the front of the band, she's the singer and bassist as well as she plays the ukulele and piano. A big band fan, her favourites are Twenty One Pilots, Sleeping With Sirens, Mayday Parade, Pierce the Veil, us, etc. Her cousin, Katlynn Mattock, is the drummer. She the oldest, the 'mom' of the group if you will. She has the same music taste. Their band started out as just them two, covers of the bands mentioned plus more. After about 6 months, this one," He pointed to another girl. "Liberty, joined as their guitarist. That's when they started writing and playing around with their own sound and music. Fast forward another 4 months and they get this guy," He pointed out the last person in the picture. "His names Ryan. He plays melody guitar. The very basic stuff. According to their videos, he's learning more from this dude named Ben." He brought up another video and showed them Ben. "Ben wasn't looking for a commitment, he just helped out when they needed an extra guitarist, which is why he's teaching Ryan."

Andy nodded in thought as Jinxx explained the band. "What's their name?" He asked curiously.

Jinxx smirked. "Hint of Whiplash. Apparently, it was the drummer's idea. It started as a joke because the singer 'hurt' her neck when she was joking around with headbanging and the drummer asked her if she had a hint of whiplash. They were going to change it, but it stuck with their small fan base." He shrugged. Once Jinxx had heard of the band, he knew this would be the band Andy needed, so he had done extensive research.

"Play a video," Andy commented, sitting down.

CC, Jake and Ashley also surrounded the laptop as Jinxx searched the video that caught his eye in the first place. The video was the one girl at the beginning.

She was breathing heavily, with a gun in her hand. Her make-up was running, her hair was a mess like she had just finished crying. Echoes of screams and cries played faintly in the background. It faded in and out, flashes of drags of cigarettes and swigs of alcohol accompanying the images before it went black.

It was silent for a moment, then a familiar rift began. A soft, melodic voice began singing words that may not have been her own, but might as well have been.

"Here's where it starts, another night alone in the dark
Hate is running through my veins
Steady now I'm takin' aim
The darkness of day, all the skies are turning to grey."

She sang as her band played with her. She was singing into a microphone that Andy usually used in his Andy Black videos. Andy leaned forward, his eyes intently on the lead singer.
As her voice carried on, sometimes the video would flash to Ryan, Katlynn and Liberty. Different clips of them dropping their phones or running to their car, or even booking it to the house where Andy assumed Charlie was.

Other times it was focused on the band.

Liberty, with her long hair loose, her glasses gone, and heavy eye make-up held a red electric fender guitar. She had on black leggings, a white shirt and jean vest, with a long necklace with an owl on it as a charm. Then there was Ryan. He wore black skinny jeans, a grey V-neck and a leather jacket. His platinum blonde hair was slicked back and he had on black converse. Katlynn, although they could only see her top half most of the time, had her curls loose with a headband on. She had on no eye make-up in case of sweat, and wore a lose white V-neck, as well as black jeans. Charlie had on a black V-neck, a red plaid flannel, a leather jacket (both of which the sleeves were rolled up), and a million bracelets on her wrists. Her black skinny jeans were ripped at the knees, and her black combat boots stood their ground firmly. Her hair was braided back on one side, but her bangs side was left out to fall in her face. She had on incredible eye make-up, and two necklaces, as well as a chain on her hip. She also had a tattoo on her forearm he couldn't quite make out, as well as one behind her ear. She had four piercings in one ear, three in the other with a bar, as well as an eyebrow piercing.

"Can anybody..."

The music stopped and the video flashed to Charlie in the bathroom, her heavy breathing intensified. "Charlie! Open the door!" Ryan shouted, as he and Katlynn banged on the door while Liberty was talking on the phone with someone.

The music erupted and kept flashing back and forth between the rest of the band trying to get the bathroom door open, and the entire band on the stage in their band getup.

At the end of the song, the door burst open. "Put the gun down, just put the gun down," Ryan said as Katlynn stood there with a hand to her mouth.

Charlie dropped the gun, a tear rolling down her face as Ryan kneeled, and the screen went dark.

Andy sat there for a moment before leaning back. "They made that themselves?" Andy asked.

Jinxx nodded. "We were all tagged in a tweet from one of their fans, asking us to check them out. I'm glad I did, I think they'd be a good match with you Ands." He told him. "Here, watch this one,"

The next one they viewed had a less quality camera, and it was only the three girls.

"Hey guys!" Katlynn greeted happily.

"Sup fam." Liberty threw up a peace symbol.
"This is the part we say hi right," Charlie joked, throwing up a 'rock on' symbol with a goofy grin.

"We've been keeping a secret from you guys," Katlynn pouted.

This was obviously one of their other covers, but also way more chill then the music video he had just seen. Charlie was in regular ripped skinny jeans, a red flannel and a Sleeping With Sirens band tee on. Her wrists still help a million bracelets, but the tattoo behind her ear was missing, as well as the one on her forearm. Katlynn had on a blue shirt that said 'catastrophe' with a picture of a cat on it, and red skinny jeans. Liberty was wearing leggings with a bizarre pattern on it, with a large maroon sweater.

"We are delighted to introduce our newest member of the band, RYAN CHRISTOPHER !!!" Liberty shouted as Ryan came in and sat in the middle of everyone.

He too was say more casual. A floral print button up, skinny jeans, and a key chain hanging out of his back pocket.

"Tell our lovely fans what we will be playing today," Charlie grinned.

"Well we wouldn't be a starting, trying to be punk band without playing Teenage Dirtbag, now would we?" He grinned.

"You're right! Well then, let's gooooooooooo!" Katlynn shouted and they all ran like dorks to their instruments.

Andy looked back at Jinxx. "How old are they?"

"Katlynn is the oldest at 21, Liberty and Ryan are both 20 and Charlie is 19, fresh out of high school." He explained.

"I want to meet them," He told Jinxx, standing up.

"Wait, now?!" The entire band turned to Andy as he headed towards the door, grabbing his phone, keys, wallet and slipping on his leather jacket.

"Yes now," He gave them a 'duh' look. He explained how he would go to the Post Office that the PO Box address for fan mail was and ask for her address. If that didn't work, then he could go around asking people. They had claimed to live in a small town, it shouldn't have to be too hard.

"You are aware they are in Canada, right?" CC asked Andy as they too got ready to head out.

"You do realize we are rich, can book a private jet and be there in two hours, right?" Andy rolled his eyes and walked out with his band.
