I am a Good Girl

Hayden's POV

I went home around 6 am from Ashley's party. I had to admit it was one of the best parties I had been to in a long time, but that was because I met CC.
CC just gave me this feeling that took me to cloud nine.
I thought about him the whole cab ride home, wishing I was still with him.

As I stumbled into my apartment, my phone buzzed in my bag.
I kicked off my shoes and collapsed onto the bed before I pulled it out.
I looked at the ID and it was CC. I immediately smiled.
Unlocking my phone as quick as I could, desperately wanting to read the text.
Hey gorgeous, hope you got home okay. Hope we can see each other again. Text me when you're free :) xx - CC
I felt the butterflies flapping their little wings against the lining of my stomach. I had to text back.
Just walked in the door now. I had the best night with you! I work till 6 most days, but any time after that is fine xx - Hayden
I sighed and tossed my phone aside.
God, I hope he can see me this week.
I decided that instead of sitting by the phone waiting for a reply, I lazily undressed and took a shower.

The following afternoon, I managed to sleep in till 1 until Duke woke me up.
I felt his little paws stepping over me, trying to get my attention.
I rolled onto my back and tried to grab him with my hands.
"Where are you Dukey" I said groggily.
My hand landed on his back, forcing him to lay down under it.
"You're hungry, that's why you've woken me huh?" I questioned him, expecting to get an answer.
Duke softly barked, looking in my direction.
"I take that as a yes. Fine, I'm up" I sighed and slowly made my way out of my bed.
Duke quickly paced towards his food bowl and sat next to it.
"Such a good boy!" I cooed, pouring his food into the bowl.
I started to make myself something to eat, when I heard my phone chime from my bedroom.
I rolled my eyes; it was probably work, asking me to start at 6 tomorrow morning. I thought about ignoring but, they know me.
To my surprise, it wasn't work.
Hey Hayden, I know this is short notice, but do you wanna get dinner tonight? I really wanna see you again xx - CC
Bubbles seemed to float out of me, making me dance for joy.
"OMG!" I said to myself in disbelief.
I couldn't even believe this was happening.
A guy I actually liked was messaging me!
Hey CC, umm, yeah, that sounds great! What time?
I messaged back, my thumbs twitching over my phone's keypad.
6:30?
The text chimed barely a minute later.
Can't wait. I typed back with excitement.
I could feel my mouth had spread into a giant grin as I chewed on a fingernail.
Awesome, I'll pick you up. Just message me your address and I'll see you later :) xx
My insides had overcome me and I was on top of the world.
"Duke! I have a date tonight! What is mommy gonna wear?!" I said, rushing into the kitchen, Duke finishing the last of his meal.
He stared at me oddly and padded off to his bed.
"Thanks for the advice" I shrugged.

After a long struggle of trying to figure out my wardrobe for the evening I finally decided.
I stood in my full length mirror analyzing ever inch of my body.
It was cold out so I decided on a thick pair of black tights, an oversize cream knit jumper and plain black, suede boots that made me two inches taller.
I washed my hair earlier causing it to dry into soft waves that swished along my shoulders.
I did my best with my make up, but I didn't do anything too fancy; it was just dinner.
Relief covered my face as I was finally happy with the look.
I glanced over at my nightstand to check the time, 6:11. Still had twenty minutes before CC got here.
I relaxed on my bed, checking my Instagram and decided to try and take a selfie. The process always meant taking more than ten photos, but I was interrupted when the door buzzed.
"Duke! CC's here!" I called into the apartment.
I opened the front door of the building and anxiously waited for CC to knock on my door.
I rushed to check myself in the mirror one more time, before I heard the quick tapping sound of my door.
"Coming!" I yelled.
As I swung the door open, I was disappointed. "Ashley? W-what are you doing here?" I stammered, shooting looks down the hall for CC.
"I thought we'd chill" a smirk plastered on his face.
"I can't chill, I'm going out. You have to leave" I stressed.
"Ohh, come on, don't be like that. You know you want to" he cooed, making his eyes as seductive as possible.
"I have a date" I stated.
"You're so cute. Making up stories so I'll want you more. You know how much I love a forbidden woman" he said, placing his hands on my waist and pulling me towards his body.
"Ash! I'm serious! I'm not playing!" I shouted, trying to push him off me.
"Well we better get one in before he arrives" he continued, playing along.
I really didn't wanna tell Ashley that I was going on a date with one of his best friends, but he wasn't leaving me an option.
"CC asked me out. He's picking me up soon" I said simply, not even reacting to his movements anymore.
Ashley seemed stunned for a second. I think he was confused as to if I was joking or not.
"Bullshit?" He questioned, unsure of himself.
"No bullshit. I can show you texts if you don't believe me" I shrugged.
"So... Umm, you actually hit it off with CC?"
"Yeah... I really, kinda like him..."
"Ohh, well that's cool" Ashley shrugged off any embarrassment he felt.
"So, this" I waved my finger between us "can't happen tonight."
"Nahh, I get ya. I sleep with other people, so should you" he said coolly, like we were in an open relationship.
"Sure. Umm, I'll catch you at the gym tomorrow?"
"Yeah. Talk to you then. Have fun tonight" he said, then dashed out of my apartment.
I thought I saw him roll his eyes. He doesn't believe me.
