Soul Mates
The Letter
-1 month later-
I arrive home from school to see both of my parents standing in front of the island, smiles on their faces.
"What's going on?" I ask as I place my violin on the floor
"You have a letter from Julliard." my father says proudly
Shock and excitement are the first emotions to overwhelm me, followed by nerves. I walk over to the island and pick up my letter.
"What's that?" Alyssa asks after finally removing her headphones and returning to reality.
"You sister's letter from Julliard" my other tells her without taking her eyes off of me
I take a deep breath before running my finger under the seal that holds the answer of my fate. I pull the letter out and unfold it....
....
Tears. Tears fall down my face as I read the first line of the letter. I see the look of excitement on my parent's faces fall, but before they could console me I found my voice...
"I... I got in!"
"Oh my goodness sweetie that is amazing!" my mother shouts with joy
"I am so very proud of you, you work so hard. Keep up your good work in school and maybe we can convince the guidance counselor to let you graduate early after all." my father says
"Congrats." Alyssa says before putting her head phones back in and walking away
"We must go out to dinner tonight to celebrate! Whatever you want." My mother says, the joy still radiant in her voice.

I lay in my bed, waiting for my mother to call me down to leave for dinner. I hold the letter of acceptance in my hands. My dreams are going to come true. Maybe I'll even meet my soul mate there. I always pictured him as a tall guy with cute blue eyes and a love for music....
