Mister Mysterious

“Are you almost ready?” Called out Andy. He was tapping his foot on the ground patiently as I finished curling my hair. I was so excited to finally go on a date with my dream guy. I just hope that I am his dream girl. I had to look hot, but not out of his league. I had to be smart, but not over power him. I had to have the same interests, but still have an opinion of my own. When you find the one thing in your life you would throw it all away for… that's what you do. You throw it all away to make that one thing want you as much as you want it.

“I am almost done! I promise!”

“You said that five minutes ago! Please hurry. We are going to be late for our reservation, then we will miss the movie. I know you will look stunning no matter what, please hurry!” Andy has been waiting in a tux for about forty-five minutes. Even when he was frustrated with me, he was still sweet. His deep tone never strained in anger, even though I was taking forever.

I finished the last touches on my hair, then walked out of the bathroom. It was perfect. All my hard work had come to this moment. Andy eyeing me up and down, biting his lip softly. He wanted me, but I had to make him work for it.

I wore a black dress with a classy red lipstick and thigh highs covered with lace roses. The dress was slimming, but not too slimming. It was black and it was fitting… just what he would want. I wore boots that clunked when I walked giving an edge to my elegance. Not that I needed much edge, anyways. The sleeveless dress showed off my two full sleeves of tattoos. I felt like a goth princess being greeted at the door by a tall and dapper stranger with piercing blue eyes.

Andy took my arm and kisses my cheek. “You look…” he was trying to find the right words. I could see it in his eyes that he wanted me to be happy and for tonight to be perfect. “Ethereal.” He breathed out and smiled, matching the girl that was on my face, but not the blush on my cheeks. I squeezed his hand and started walking towards the car in long graceful glides.

We were almost to the restaurant. It was a French establishment called, Omelette Du Fromage. (AN: Yes, I just did that.) I had no idea what it meant, but just hearing it made me want to rip Andy’s tux off and-

“Your table was given to another couple.” The man at the front desk looked at us like trash. It was like we didn't deserve his decency after being ten minutes late. I will admit, the place was packed and it was a Saturday evening, but he could still be polite.

“Then what the hell are we supposed to do?” Andy said to the man, visibly irritated.

“You can wait in line. I will be honest, it looks like at least a three hour wait. “ He gave Andy, a look, then shooed us away by calling up the next person in line. Andy mumbled something under his breath and ushered me near the front door where we came in.

“I’m sorry I took so long getting ready.” I said softly, looking up at him. This was my fault. I completely ruined the night because I couldn’t decide what lipstick colour to wear. I’m a dumbass. I don’t deserve Andy.

He quickly took me into his arms and hugged me tightly. I breathed slowly, surrounding myself with his cent. He has just had a shower and smelled like fresh shampoo mixed his classic cigarette smell. The smokey smell was light, though. It felt like it was hiding, the shampoo blurring my senses.

“This isn’t your fault. I’m sorry this didn’t go as planned.” He spoke softly, releasing me from the embrace and kissing my forehead. “If we wait here we will miss the movie, do you mind going someplace less fancy?”

“It doesn't matter to me.” I smiled.
