My Perfect Weapon

She sat looking out the window of her hospital room waiting for the nurse to come back with the paperwork. She was being discharged today. The doctors were all amazed at her recovery. They said it was a miracle she was alive.She remembered waking up surrounded by strangers. She had no idea who they were. She couldn't remember anything from before she woke up except the image of a man with haunting blue eyes.

The strangers turned out to be her family or so they said. She really didn't know, but they really had no reason to lie to her, so she decided she would try to believe them. And yet she couldn't shake the feeling that there was somewhere else she was supposed to be. She felt as if part of her were missing and she needed to find it.

The doctors told her it was common for people coming out of comas to have some memory loss. Her brain needed to reboot itself in order to heal properly. She wasn't going to argue they were the experts right?

The nurse walked in with her discharge papers. She smiled sweetly at her as she came into the room.
"Ariel, sweetheart, I have the papers for you to sign."

She cringed at the name. They had told her that her name was Ariel Cash, but it didn't feel right. She didn't like it. It made her feel like she belonged in a Disney movie.
"Please, don't call me that." She asked making a face.
"What should I call you then?" the nurse asked with an amused smile.

She thought about it for a moment. She knew the name Ariel had originally come from the play The Tempest by William Shakespeare. It seemed odd to her that she couldn't remember anything about her life, but could remember other things like the works of Shakespeare even though she had no clue when she had read them. The doctors said that was normal too.

One of his works stood out in her mind. Romeo and Juliet. She felt as if she were Juliet waiting for her Romeo to come get her. The image of the man with the haunting blue eyes popped into her mind again. She had no idea who he was, but something within her told her that he was her Romeo.

"Juliet. As soon as I can, I'm changing my name to Juliet." she finally answered.
"May I ask why?" the nurse asked.
"Because that's how I feel right now. I feel like Juliet having woke up only to discover her Romeo wasn't there."
The nurse looked thoughtful for a moment. "You know Romeo and Juliet was a tragedy, right?"
"Not this time" Juliet answered. "I think this time it's going to have a happy ending."
"What makes you say that?" The nurse asked skeptically.
"Because the tragedy has already happened."

She turned and left the hospital room. She walked out of the hospital to the car where her mother was waiting to take her home, but it wasn't really her home. Her home was with her Romeo and she would wait patiently for him to find her.

As her mother pulled the car out of the parking lot she caught sight of a man standing on the sidewalk looking at her. She smiled at him and he smiled back. It was odd, but for a moment, when he took off his sunglasses, it looked as if he had silver eyes. The moment passed when her mother turned the car onto the street and she lost sight of him. When she turned to look back, he was gone. She shrugged it off. She turned back around and looked out the windshield. She knew she was looking ahead to a new life and a new beginning. She had no idea what her life had been like before, but she knew this was her second chance.

And it comes to an end finally. I will be posting the first few chapters of the sequel either later today or sometime tomorrow, depending on you guys. I need feedback on something. I'm kind of stuck between two titles and I want your opinion. So, I'm gonna give you a chance to vote on the titles and let you guys pick the name for the sequel. :D
