My Perfect Weapon

Skylar was home alone for a change. She had no idea where everyone had gone. After the door bell had rang, Andy had left. Sometime after that, everyone had just drifted off to do their own thing.

The house was quiet and she took the opportunity to relax for a change. She drew herself a bath and sit soaking in the warm water. Letting her mind drift to graduation. She was finally going to be free from hell. She smiled to herself, thinking of the freedom she would soon have.

She heard the front door open and assumed it was Andy or one of the others coming home. She dressed in her favorite night gown and tied a robe around herself, before heading into the living room. She stopped when she saw someone she didn't recognize sitting on her couch.

"who are you?" she asked nervously.

He didn't answer. Instead he took off his sunglasses. She gasped when she saw the vivid silver color of his eyes. He smiled at her, but there was a sadness in his smile. He walked over to her and took her hand, before speaking for the first time.

"I'm sorry it has to be this way, Skylar, but I promise I'll stay with you the whole time. You won't be alone."

Before she could reply, the front door burst open and Randy came rushing at her. She barely had time to register who it was, before she was tackled to the floor. Her head hit the hardwood floor and for a moment she was stunned. She became aware of a pain in her chest and stomach. She realized Randy was on top of her stabbing her repeatedly with a knife. She began to feel a cold numbness spread through her and she knew she was dying.

She saw Randy stand up and look down at her. His face was twisted into a sick triumphant smile. Would this be the last thing she saw before leaving this world? A tear slipped down her face as she thought of Andy and Aiden. She thought of everyone she was leaving behind and she felt her heart break.She felt a hand in hers and turned her head. Her eyes met the vivid silver eyes of the stranger she now knew to be death himself. A strange peacefulness settled over her.

Suddenly she wasn't in her body anymore. She was standing beside the man with the strange silver eyes. Another tear slipped down her cheek as she looked down at her body laying on the hardwood floor. She lifted her gaze to meet that of the man's.
"If we're going to fix this, Skylar, time is of the essence. We must hurry."

He took her hand again and the room around them dissolved. She found herself in a hospital room looking at an unconscious girl. She had tubes and wires hooked up to her. The steady beeping of a heart monitor was the only indication that the pale girl was alive.

Skylar was confused. She had no idea why he would have brought her here. She looked away from the girl and again met those silver eyes.
"She's in a coma. Her name was Ariel Cash. Her body is being kept alive by those machines, but she died a long time ago. The doctors have finally convinced her parents that there's no hope she'll recover. They're taking her off life support at midnight."
"What does this have to do with me?" Skylar asked.
"I'm giving you another chance, Skylar. Andy needs you. You're the only thing that allows him to control himself. I promise you will see him again, and your son and all your friends. It's just going to take sometime."
"But if that's true, what will happen when Andy finds out I'm gone? How are we suppose to find each other?"
"I have a plan for that, I promise. I couldn't stop your death, Skylar and I'm sorry for that. I'm not aloud to interfere with a human's free will, but I can give you another chance at life. This isn't the end for you and Andy, Skylar. I promise."

With those words, he stepped forward and placed a kiss on her forehead. He smiled reassuringly at her. She suddenly felt herself being pulled toward the girl on the bed. A heavy weight was dragging her down into the girl's body. And then darkness was all she could see. A strange sensation settled over her and then she knew no more.

Please don't hate me, I did this for a reason. It's all part of the plans I have for the sequel. I promise it will all come together in the end and you will see my reasoning behind it.
