Skylar walked into school holding Andy's hand just as she did every day. She was still worried about what the jocks were going to do now that they knew there was something different about Andy. She tried to push it out of her mind, but she knew they would try something. Maybe not yet, but eventually they would make their move and she was afraid of what the outcome would be.

They approached their lockers only to be stopped by the principal. "Andy I need you to come with, please. Skylar you go on to class."

Andy looked at Skylar for a moment before following Mrs. Anderson down the hall to her office. Skylar didn't know what to do. She had a sinking feeling in her stomach. She felt exposed and vulnerable without Andy by her side. There was really nothing she could do but only hope no one would try anything.

She went to her first period class and took her seat. She noticed everyone staring at her and she was getting uncomfortable. She tried to ignore the stares and whispers she heard every once in a while, but half way through the class the girl sitting next to her turned and spoke to her.

"Where's Andy? Has he finally decided to leave you sorry ass now that he's finally gotten what he wanted? You didn't really think he actually wanted you did you? Everyone knows you only got pregnant to trap him."

Skylar tried to ignore her but then something odd happened. Skylar felt the baby begin to kick. The baby had been moving a lot lately especially when Andy was touching her stomach or talking to it. Sometimes the baby moved when someone mentioned Andy's name so she didn't find that strange but what happened next definitely was.

Right after the baby kicked, the girl's head snapped around as if she had been slapped and she fell off her chair. The whole class turned and looked at her sitting on the floor holding her cheek. She was staring at Skylar with wide eyes looking terrified out of her mind.

"Is there a problem Ms. Wentz?" The teacher asked.
"S-s-she slapped me." She replied pointing at Skylar.
"Let me see." The teacher said as she walked over to her.

She removed her hand from her face and looked up at the teacher. The teacher looked at her for a moment before speaking. "You shouldn't make up stories, Ms. Wentz. If Ms. West had slapped you hard enough to knock you from your chair, you would have a handprint or at least a welt on your face. What likely happened was you fell asleep and fell out of your chair."
"She didn't actually touch me. She did it with her mind."

The class burst out laughing and the teacher had to quiet them down. "Mrs. Wentz, if you're going to continue to disrupt my class, you can gather you're things and carry them down to the principal's office."

The girl gathered her belongings and left the room. The rest of the class went by without incident.

When Andy still wasn't back from the principal's office by the end of her second class she began to worry. She met Ashley in the hall on her way to their third class, which they had together.
"Ash, have you seen Andy?" She asked falling into step beside him.
"You didn't hear? He got suspended because of the incident after school yesterday. Those stupid jocks told Mrs. Anderson that Andy started the whole thing. I don't think she believed them, but since Marcus had a cast on his wrist, she said she had no choice but to suspend Andy for the week."

Skylar was horrified. With Andy not there, she would be a target once again. What was she going to do if someone tried something. She couldn't skip. If she missed anymore classes, she would be held back yet again.

Ashley seemed to notice her worry. "Don't worry, Sky, I promised Andy I wouldn't let anything happen to you or the baby. And I always keep my word."
"But, you can't be with me all the time, Ash. What happens if you're not around and they try something?"
"You'll be surprised where I can be when I'm needed" He said giving her a wink.

She thought back to what happened in her first class. Was it Ashley? He was an incubus, which meant he had abilities, but how would he know what had happened? He hadn't been anywhere around at the time. She didn't know anything about his kind except what the myths said, which couldn't be true. She couldn't see Ash ever forcing himself on a woman. He had too much respect for them. Maybe it was possible that it had been him, but she wasn't sure. She could always just ask him, but class was starting and it really wasn't the right place. Someone could over hear them and that wouldn't be good, so it would just have to wait till later.

By the time lunch came around, she had no idea where Ashley was. She hadn't thought to ask him his class schedule. She spent ten minutes waiting for him in the cafeteria, but he hadn't shown. She decided to go looking for him.

She walked out of the lunchroom and headed down the hall. She didn't see him anywhere, so she decided to check the parking lot behind the school. Sometimes students would hangout there during lunch or while slipping class. This turned out to be a mistake.

As she came around the corner of the building, she ran into Marcus. He was alone leaning against the building smoking a cigarette. He caught sight of her and she knew she was in trouble. She tried to backtrack the way she had come, but he was quicker.
"Well, well if it isn't Skylar the whore. Your little boy toy isn't here to save you now."
"Leave me alone, Marcus." She said trying to be brave, but her voice sounded small and she knew he could sense her fear.

He stepped forward and grabbed her by the arm. He leaned forward and blew his smoke directly in her face before dropping his cigarette and stomping it out. What the hell was he doing? She was pregnant. Didn't he know cigarette smoke wasn't good for the baby. Andy wouldn't even smoke in the same room with her.

"Your boyfriend is quite interesting. Yesterday Randy stabbed him in the stomach and he didn't even flinch. Just pulled it out like nothing happened. How is that possible Skylar? What are you carrying in there?" He asked placing a hand on her belly.

The color drained from her face and her heart thudded in her chest. She knew this would happen. Someone knew Andy was different and now he was going to do something stupid and no one was around to protect her and the baby.

He began to drag her toward the woods behind the school. She screamed but he quickly covered her mouth and she was afraid to struggle to much. She might accidently hurt the baby. He pulled her into the trees and threw her to the ground. She hit the ground hard but luckily she landed on her back and not her stomach.

"We need to get rid of that thing before it has a chance to kill anyone. We'll worry about your boyfriend later." He said as he pulled a knife from his jacket.

He stalked toward her holding the knife. It was a large hunting knife. The kind used for gutting deer and other large animals. She suddenly understood he intended to cut the baby out of her. She couldn't let him do that. But what could she do, he had a knife. If she fought him, she could be stabbed and still wind up loosing the baby.

She did the only thing she could thing of, she screamed to Andy in her mind, hoping he would hear. She just had to distract him until he could get there, but how?
"Come on, Marcus, think about what you're doing. You're about to kill an innocent baby." she said as she placed her arms protectively over he belly.
He laughed. "An innocent baby!? That thing is a freak of nature and shouldn't be allowed to live." He said standing over her.

She felt hopeless. What was she going to do? The baby began to move and the next thing she knew Marcus was flying backwards. He hit a tree and was hanging there off the ground seemingly pinned by an unseen force. Skylar was stunned. He struggled against it , but to no avail. He couldn't move.
"What the hell are you doing to me?" Marcus asked terrified.
"It's not her."

Skylar turned and saw Andy standing there with Ashley and CC. Relief washed over her. She and the baby were safe now. Andy walked over to Marcus and took the knife from him.
"Big fucking mistake, Marcus. Did you really think I would let you get away with trying to touch Skylar or my child. You really are a dumbass."

He took the knife and stabbed it deep into Marcus's chest. Marcus's face looked stunned before the life left his eyes. The unseen force let go and his body fell to the ground with a soft thud.

Skylar saw a shudder go through Andy's body. His wings popped out and he turned toward her and she noticed his eyes were black and his horns were out. They were longer than the last time she saw them.
"Are you alright?" He asked walking toward her.
"Yes. I was worried you wouldn't get here in time." She said wrapping her arms around him. He folded his wings around her. "But how did you do that thing? Is it a new ability?"
"Skylar that wasn't me."
She looked at Ashley and CC. They both shook their heads. "But, then who..?"
"It seems our little one was protecting you both." He said pulling back slightly and placing his hand on her belly.

Wow that took a long time to write lol. Hope you liked it. I have already started working on the companion piece to this story since you guys really seem to like the idea. I'm just having trouble coming up with a title for it. Any suggestions? Also if there is anything specifically you want me to include in it just let me know. I'm making it for you guys and your input would welcome.
