My Perfect Weapon

Skylar was home alone tonight. Lacy was staying at her boyfriend's place for the night. She had the apartment all to herself and she was planning on having a movie night. She set up the t.v. and put the DVDs on the coffee table.

She limped into the kitchen and put some popcorn in the microwave. She sat down on one of the kitchen chairs to wait for the microwave to finish. Her knee was killing her. She should probably prop it up to keep the swelling down, but she was used to coming home with injuries. She was just going to endure it.

As the microwave beeped, she heard a noise from the livingroom. She frowned. "Lacy?" She called out, but got no reply. She limped into the livingroom, but saw noone.

As she limped back to the kitchen she saw a quick movement from the corner of her eye in the hall that led to the bedrooms. She turned toward the hall and slowly made her way toward the bedrooms. She frowned again.

All the doors in the hall were closed. She opened the door to Lacy's room, but noone was there. When she opened the door to her room, she saw something laying on her pillow. She crossed the room to her bed and stood staring down at the object. A blue rose was on her pillow.

She hesitated for a moment before picking it up. There was no note this time. Just the rose, but how had it gotten here?

She heard a noise from behind her. She turned toward the sound and was frozen for a moment before slowly backing up only to bump into the wall. Fear consumed her for a moment until he spoke. "Skylar, my love, it's only me. You don't need to be afraid."

Her heart hammered in her chest. "Andy? Is it really you?" Suddenly he was in front of her making her jump slightly. She was still against the wall. She had nowhere to go. "Yes, it's really me, darling." He replied as he brought his hand up and gently touched her face.

"Am I dreaming?" She asked looking up at him into his blue eyes. They seemed to be bluer than usual. Almost glowing.
"No, angel, you're awake." He said looking down at her with loving eyes
"But, how can this be? How are you here?"
"I'm here because you wanted me here. I told you one day we would be together in more than just dreams." He said placing a tender kiss on her forehead.

She looked up at him. Her heart still pounding, she reached up and touched him. He was solid. He was real. For a moment her fear came back. "Skylar, my love, please don't be afraid of me. I would never hurt you. I love you." He said with pleading eyes. "It's still me. I'm just not a dream anymore. That's all. Please tell me you still want me."

The look he was giving her told her everything she needed to know. She took a deep breath trying to clam her pounding heart. Of course he was right. He was still Andy, her perfect boyfriend. Only he wasn't just a fantasy anymore. He was real. He was here. She had wished this many times. So what if she didn't understand it, she still loved him. "Yes, Andy, I still want you."

The smile that appeared on his face was even more beautiful in real life than it had been in her dreams. He leaned forward and place a tender passionate kiss on her lips. She almost melted into the wall. The sparks she felt as his lips touched her almost made her knees buckle. She would have fallen if Andy hadn't wrapped his arms around her waist. My God. she thought. This is even better in real life.
