Kenzi Rose

Prologue

"So what or who would you say really made you want to produce music?" The interviewer asked.

"I'm not really sure I can say just one person or band. Everything I've ever heard has inspired me in someway, whether it's making me want to try new things or if it makes me want to stay the hell away from the music they're making."

"So there was never like one person who you really felt connected with or anything?"

"Well, my father is a singer and of course I love his music and obviously that had an effect on me from, probably the day I was born."

"When did you know that this was what you wanted to do? Was there anything you thought you'd be other than a musician?"

"Uh, yeah when I was younger I loved to draw and thought I would become a professional artist. I knew that no matter what I would be doing something creative. I have a very strong imagination and love to create things. As for when I knew I wanted to make music, my dad taught me how to play piano at ten, I learned guitar at seven and just remember always listening to music, no matter what I was doing or where I was. But I think it really sunk into me that this is what I was supposed to do, what I wanted to do when I was fourteen, so only a few years ago. I was living in Malibu with my dad and we went to a concert in LA for this band, I forget the name, something Hearts. I was standing in the crowd and watching the singer and he was just so into the music and he really looked comfortable with what he was doing. His voice just resonated with me in a way only my father's has. He really blew me away. That concert, which was far from my first, my first was at six months old, changed my life forever. I really hope I'll be able to meet that singer one day, hopefully he'll still be making music and I'll be able to thank him for that."
