Meeting in the graveyard

Chapter three

The day was going by at such a slow pace, I barley recognized my cousin standing in the hallway by the front office waving me down.

My body on autopilot I found myself standing in front of her, she spoke in a muffled voice as she led me outside into her car.

I was only catching bits of our one sided conversation, but she ended up driving us back to my grandma's house.

Staring out the passenger side window I forced myself to get out and go inside.

Hearing my cousin do the same did nothing to my nerves as I ascended the porch and unlocked the front door.

She said something about forgetting her personal items here after the funeral, nodding my head I walked off towards the back of the house to clear my head.

A noise shook me as heard the door slam shut, ignoring it I reached for the back door knob to start shaking.

It was locked.

I didn't turn around by stared at my reflection as two men were now walking up behind me.

I flinched as one of them grabbed my shoulder to steer me towards the living room, stumbling on my unsteady legs I was facing a woman with the brightest green eyes.

She gave the men a look and they hurried out of the room leaving us alone in the strained silence.

"You smell just like her so sweet like strawberries... Your eyes are the most alluring thing about you. He's going to find you soon..." She quietly said to herself as I stood memorized by her body swaying towards me like a beautiful nightmare.

Her hand was like ice grabbing my face and turning my shaking face by my eyes stayed glued to her green eyes, "Hauntingly beautiful those purple eye's of yours whenever you're in danger..." She whispered leaning into my neck.

I jumped as one of the Windows shattered open and a flaming alcohol bottle smashed into the carpet.

The next thing I knew my body was shoved onto the ground as the woman was scooped up into one of the men's arm's and carried away.

A spell of dizziness consumed my confused brain and I stayed there as the fire roared to life around me burning my world alive and slowly taking me with it.

Hands urgently grabbed me around my waist and I was hauled over some wide thin shoulders and carried off outside.

I gasped for air as I was gently laid down on the ground, coughing I felt someone rubbing my back.

Turning to look my mind became more clear as I looked up at Andy who was looking at my house up in flames.

"Here." He announced wiping my face with the sleeve of his black sweater.

I shuddered with fear as someone yelled at us and came running at us.

The fear turned into adrenaline as Andy jerked my off the ground onto my unsteady legs and forced me into a run.

I was gasping behind him as he weaved in and out of trees until he felt we were safe.

Our feet hit gravel and I knew were nearing the cemetery, opening my mouth to yell I ended up screaming as my hair was grabbed and I was jerked from his grasp.

I watched Andy skidding to a stop as he whirled around to snarl at my attacker, "Let her go!" He ran at me I gasped as he tackled the man to the ground.

I struggled to my feet to see them wrestling on the ground, my better judgement telling me to run and hide.

"Find somewhere to hide!" Andy growled out as the man pinned him down face first.

I turned to run and saw a hidden path covered by bushes and old crooked branches.

I forced my way through and came onto an uneven path I stumbled up it only to slowly stop as a iron gated crip met my scared eyes.

I open the gates to start cursing the doors were locked, I heard panting behind me before Andy came crashing down next to my feet.

I reached for him to have my hand slapped away and him hiss out "Open it hurry!" I started shaking my head as foot steps came thundering towards us.

"I can't it's locked Andy!" I yelled as men came up to surround us.

"Devon there's a key around your neck open it now!" He hissed as a man tried to grab me.

I ducked screaming as Andy kicked the man's feet out from under him.

I felt the key on my chest turn scorching hot as I jerked it free to slam into the lock, and as I turned it the doors flew open to reveal another Andy.

Except this one was a rotting corpse bound with chains and nailed to the wall.

Laughter made slowly turn around and I watched in shock as the men were now being strangled five feet off the ground.

I searched for Andy and flinched as arms wrapped me into a delicate hug.

I turned my head and stared shocked at the amused face Andy now wore as he hugged me.

His eyes dancing with delight as the men dropped like flies.

This is a really good first chapter. Keep up the good work. I like Devon. She's realistic and her fears and sadness are all very easy to relate to :)
