Last Rites: The End of Days

Chapter Two: A Missing Friend

It had been a whole week since the accident, and CC was still shaken up about it. The fact that there had been more disappearances throughout that week hadn't made things any better.
By week two after the accident, CC could tell that even Andy was starting to get little nervous. He hadn't heard from Juliet in three days, and that wasn't really like her. Ever since they'd gotten married, she'd called every night to check in. Now three days had passed with no phone call, and not even a Twitter or Instagram update to calm Andy's fraying nerves.
The shows were getting smaller and smaller as well. Despite having been sold out, the crowds got smaller as the tour progressed.
It was at their next stop that something happened to directly affect the tour: Motionless In White's bassist, Ghost, had gone missing.

They found out Ghost was missing about halfway through the day when Motionless finished their set. They had a signing about two hours later, but Ghost never showed. They check the bus: still no sign of him. Finally, they went to Kevin Lyman, who put out a call for him over the system. Nobody had seen him. Chris was agitated. "What if he never shows up again?" he asked nobody in particular. Which was just as well. Nobody had an answer for him. All the people who disappeared never showed up again.
"Maybe he just got lost somewhere," Jake suggested.
"Ghost has never missed a signing before. He's never not answered a call before, or at least he's never not called me back when he did miss a call," Chris said.
"Maybe he lost his phone?"
"He would've found a payphone or borrowed someone else's phone to let me know where he was. It just isn't like him to disappear on us like that."

Chris had a point. CC glanced over at Andy, who was checking his phone again to see if Juliet had called. The worried look on his face said that she hadn't. CC hoped that both of them turned up again, even though he had this gut feeling that they never would.
