Soaring Bird

"Enough!" Chantel yells, "Eric, what do you know? What is she hiding?"
Everyone looks at Eric, Amy giving him a look of death. He takes a deep breath...
"I apologize in advance for not telling either of you. I thought I was protecting you, but I see that is not the case. The night you guys had you fight? Prom. I went to check on Amy when I left your house babe. I found her in her room, drunk, hysterical, and I don't even know. But I calmed her down enough to help her into bed, but then she kissed me and I pushed her away because I am 100% strictly dickly. When I knew for sure she was asleep I went to leave and saw a bunch of letters in her bedside dresser drawer and they had your name on them Chantel. So I figured they were letters she was planning on giving to you, so I may have snooped. I picked up the letter on top and it was indeed from James. He said he was sorry and he wanted to make it up to you. That was it, short and simple, so I didn't buy it. But then I noticed the whole drawer had letters with his handwriting on them and I wondered, but I decided it wasn't my business and that you probably just told her to hold onto them because you didn't believe his shit either. Then the next Tuesday I was with Amy in the hallway when James approached her with four more letter and he said, 'here are my apology letters from Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Please make sure she gets these. I continue to write everyday so she knows how sorry I am.' Amy only smiled at him and said 'of course' and shooed him away. She told me that she hadn't given you any of them because they are probably bullshit apologies of the same thing just written over and over and its better to protect you and to not say anything. So I kept quiet...."
"How could you? He wrote me everyday?" Chantel interrupts thinking Eric was done talking
"How could I? I am your girlfriend I was looking out for you!" Amy shouts
"Hey Chantel..." Eric butts in, "theres more."
"No." Amy says sternly
"Yes, now you shut your mouth and let me speak. Amy made out with Ben from art, and um..."
"What?" -C
"Stop now." -A
"She slept with him... the night you said you needed a break."
"I could kill you!"-A
"ENOUGH! GET YOUR WHORE ASS OUT OF THIS GOD DAMN HOUSE! HOW FUCKING DARE YOU DO SHIT LIKE THAT!" Allen, who had been sitting quietly explodes, causing everyone downstairs to wonder what is going on
Axel walks in, "Um.... I volunteered to come up here because I didn't think you would want your parents too but if I don't report in like 2 minutes the cavalry might fly up the stairs."
"Amy was just leaving, for good. This is it, I am done. Do not talk to me, do not think of me, and I want every single one of those apology notes tonight! Give them to Eric, he will give them to me. And while you are at it, take all of your shit back." Chantel says
She begins to throw things at Amy and then she breaks her part of their Christmas gift and just stands there, Amy as well.
"I don't want any of that, toss it out. Anything you want back?"
"Toss it, and yourself."

Amy stomps down the stairs, past her family, and out the door. Axel follows close behind...
"Um....."
Everyone looks at him waiting to know what happened.
"I have no details but uh..... they broke up."
Shock crosses everyone's faces. They didn't know that the girls had taken a break, not even Axel had known and he talked to his cousin about everything. Eric comes flying down the stairs,
"Hello, sorry about that, I might be back, bye!"
Everyone sits in shock, but Neveah calmly walks up the stairs to go speak to her daughter...


"Are you okay?" Neveah says while she comforts her daughter
"Yea mom, I'm fine. I was just lied to months and cheated on, but I'm fine."
"Baby, it's hard to know now but it will be..."
"I said I'm fine!"
"But you aren't. You can say that all you want but deep down you are not fine. A small part of you is hurt and betrayed. You trusted her, you loved her, and she let you down."
Chantel who hadn't cried the whole time she listened to the truth, who didn't cry when she was throwing things at the girl who broke her trust and her heart, began to cry. Neveah held her and let her just get it out.....
