The balcony

"Hey." He greeted me as I strolled out on the balcony and sat in the chair opposite him, next to the glass table.

"Hey." I responded, smiling slightly; impressed with myself for keeping my cool for so long, and treating him like a normal person, and not the one who inspired me to stay optimistic even through the toughest of times. I had just gotten out of the bath, my hair was in unbrushed, messy curls that reached out in all directions, bare faced, and I was in one of the two fluffy bath robes that the hotel provided.

"How was your bath?" He asked, mirroring my small smile. He had taken his shirt off, which left him in his jeans and boots. And damn, did he look good.

"Relaxing, definitely needed." I chuckled to myself. Due to the previous events, I was sweaty, my makeup was running down my face and the eyeliner had coagulated to form small clumps under my eyes - I definitely did not suit the raccoon look.

"Good." He responded, looking off into the distance. "I never asked," he started, returning his gaze to my eyes, " what's your name?"

"Sophia." I stated. "Yours?"

"Andy." He pulled a cigarette out of his jeans pocket, and a lighter. He must've noticed I didn't approve because he laughed at my expression.

"So I'm guessing you don't want to go two's with me then?" He asked, grinning like a Cheshire Cat.

"No thank you, but don't let me stop you from damaging your lungs." I stated, attempting to hide my spike which was quickly growing.

"Wasn't going to anyway."

"Wasn't going to anyway." I mocked him under my breath. He laughed.

"Child. "

"Peasant."

"Rude. "

"Deal with it. "

"Fine. "

He turned to me once more, and blew smoke in my face, to piss me off. Almost instantly, I stood up and glared at him, which he mirrored, mocking me.

"You're mean." I said.

"I know." He replied, smirking that smart ass smirk that he does so well.

"I'm going to sleep." I huffed, waking into the room. As I walked away I heard him call:

"Awww did I offend you, little girl?"

I chose to ignore him, as I was too tired to argue, and I should have probably stayed on his good side, as he was the only thing stopping me from living on the streets.

Besides, as soon as my head landed on the pillow, I was out cold.
