We'll Make It Through, My Love

I walked down the road with a sinking feeling inside of me. Was this really what I wanted? Was going to California and leaving Ohio behind worth the pain of leaving my sister? Without answers, I walked into the bar that was minutes from my apartment. I had scheduled to sing there and I was ready to start. I walk to the back and speak to the stage manager before grabbing my guitar. Tonight would be my first acoustic cover set, and I hoped I was ready.
I began my set with "The Morticians Daughter" by Black Veil Brides and finished it with "Roger Rabbit" by Sleeping With Sirens. I climbed off stage and went to sit at a table to watch the next performer. I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned around to see two members of Black Veil Brides, Ashley and CC, and Matt Good standing behind me. Ashley is smirking, CC is laughing, and Matt Good isn't doing much but hitting them on the arms. I stand and gain composure before speaking. "What's so funny?" I ask to the two.
Matt Good is the one who decides to speak up. "They were laughing because you sat there with so much confidence and then turned around with a slight nervousness." He shakes his head and smiles, holding out his hand. "Matt."
I take his hand in mine and shake it. "Charlie. Any way, was I that bad?" CC stops laughing instantly and shakes his head.
"No, not at all. In fact, you were amazing. You just need to focus a little more on both the singing and the guitar. There were times when you got lost and stopped playing. But overall you did great." Ashley said. I knew I was blushing hard. I get flustered so easily and on top of that, my idols were giving me healthy criticism. I smiled and nodded.
"When are you playing again?" CC asked me. That was something I was unsure of. I wanted to find a decent job so I wouldn't have to call my sister every month for money. "That's okay. I know a place that is hiring and I'm almost certain you'd be perfect for the job."
"I'm so sorry! I didn't realize I said that out loud. It's fine, really." I said, a blush creeping over my cheeks once again. CC is my favorite member of the band and I was still in awe that he was having a conversation with me.
"Well, if you change your mind, let me know." He said, handing me his cell number. "Call ANY time." He winks and walks away with the others.
"If only I could, CC. If only I could." I mumble under my breath as I head towards the door.
