“Wake the fuck up, Annah!”
My eyes shot open, sitting up quickly, looking around urgently. I spotted my best friend Hannah sitting on the edge of my bed, laughing her ass off. “For fuck’s sake, Hannah. You scared the shit out of me.” I said, breathing heavily. She continued to laugh as she stood up and started to jump on my bed. “The concert’s today!!” She said ecstatically. I groaned and fell back into my pillow, throwing the blanket over my head. Suddenly, my blanket was ripped from my body, the cold air enveloping my exposed skin. “Get up you fag!” She screamed, an evil grin spread across her face. “I’ll write on your posters.” My grey eyes grew wide, my eyebrows narrowing at the thought of her even touching my Black Veil Brides posters. “The fuck you won’t!” I yelled, springing out of bed and tackling her, quickly taking the marker out of her hands. We both erupted into a hysteria of laughter, falling off my bed and onto the ground. After a few minutes I stood and pulled Hannah to her feet. I hugged her tightly, the corners of my lips turning up, exposing my dimples. I glance over at the clock hung on my wall and curse under my breath. “We literally have an hour before the concert. Why didn’t you wake me up earlier, you dick?” Grabbing my clothes, I ran to the bathroom, replacing my brothers grey v-neck and old soccer shorts with a pair of red plaid skinny jeans, and a shredded My Chemical Romance shirt. I quickly brushed out my dirty blonde hair, throwing it up into a messy bun, and then applying a deep layer of black eyeliner. I threw on my red All Star Converse and reentered my bedroom, receiving a wolf whistle from Hannah. “Sexy.” I rolled my eyes in reply, grabbing my bag and car keys, heading out to the car, Hannah following on my heels.
When we pulled into the venue I could hear ‘Dance, Dance’ by Fall Out Boy being played, that must be the opening act for BVB. A breath I hadn’t known I’d been holding escaped through my lips. I pulled my key out of the ignition, pushing the door open, running up to the gates with Hannah at my side. “Hurry up! We’re going to miss the first song!” I yelled back at Hannah, regretting the decision of not making her join the school soccer team with me. By the time I arrived at the gates, the band opening for BVB was just welcoming them to the stage. “Fuck, fuck, fuck!” I said, waiting impatiently for Hannah to get through the gates. After what seemed like an eternity Hannah got through and we ran to the crowd, weaving between bodies, trying to find the stage. Just as we got to the front railings, ‘Nobody’s Hero’ had just ended. I bit down on my lip, cursing under my breath; ‘Nobody’s Hero’ was my favorite song by them, and I fucking missed it because I slept in too fucking long. I took a deep breath, calming myself enjoying the rest of the concert.
-AFTER THE CONCERT-
“THAT WAS FUCKING AMAZING!” I yelled into Hannah’s ear, trying to overpower the noise from the crowd. A large smile overtook my face, as we walked out. We had made our way back to my car, our throats hoarse from screaming so much. I leaned against the hood of my car, taking out a cigarette proceeding to light it. I brought it up to my lips, as I heard a disgusted noise come from Hannah.
“That’s really bad for you, Annah.” I shrugged, and blew the smoke in her direction, making a face at her. She laughed, her attention turning back to her phone. “Fuck. I have to go, you mind if I drive your car back home? My mom’s pissed that I missed school today...”
“Nah, go ahead. I’ll walk back.” I answered, tossing her my keys. She enveloped me in a hug and got into my car, thanking me once more before driving off. “Later, Han!” I shouted in her direction, receiving a series of honks from her.
