Love Isn't Always Fair

--Andy's POV--
I lay in bed looking at the ceiling. I feel broken. My fingers kept turning the round object in my hand. My eyes squeezed shut. She wasn’t suppose to be home! She wasn’t suppose to find out! Why the fuck am i so stupid? I opened my eyes and looked at the ring that I held between my fingers. Her ring. Alixia’s ring.
A single tear trailed down my cheek. Fuuuckkk! I set her ring on the bedside table and grabbed my cell phone. First I called my parents. “Hey mom.” I said trying to hide the sadness in my voice.
“Hello Andrew.” She cooed. “How are you enjoying your alone time with Alix?” My heart broke at the mention of her name.
“Are the kids still there?” I asked ignoring her question.
“Yea, Alixia called yesterday and talked to them. I’m surprised you didn't ask to talk to them.”
“I must have been out. Anyway, I have to go. I’ll call you later.” I hung up the phone and pursed my lips. So Alixia hadn’t gone back to my parents. Did that mean she was still in town? I decided to take a chance. I called her phone. It went straight to voicemail. I didn’t leave a message.
I called Jinxx next. Jinxx and Alixia had gotten close after our marriage. And after she felt like she had made up for playing with us both. He answered on the third ring.
“Hey Andy.” He answered.
“Hey, have you heard from Alix?” I asked, not wanting to bother with small talk.
“Not since she went to your parents. Andy….what the fuck did you do?” I winced.
“I’ll tell you later.” I hung up and decided I needed to go see Ashley. Before I left, I slid Alixia’s ring in my pocket.
--time skip--
I entered the house and stared at the ground. I had told Ashley everything. He had managed to convince me that Alix would be back. She loved me. She wouldn't just leave. We had a family together. A smile found its way to my lips. We are a family. I headed up the stairs and stopped outside the bedroom door. Something wasn’t right. I stepped into the room and my heart dropped. Her dresser drawers were opened and almost empty. As I went to inspect the drawers I realised, the only items in the drawer, where the items that i had bought. I ran to our closet and nearly ripped the doors off in my hurry.
Our closet was the same. No, no! I tore out of our room and into the kids’ room. Nothing but the beds remained. My heart stopped. “NO!” I tore back into our room. I pulled open every drawer in hopes of finding something. Anything. But I found none.
I called ashley after I pulled myself together more. Ashley came up the stairs. He lightly was gripping papers in his hands. His face was grim. “What’s the matter Ash?” I asked. He handed me the paper. I looked at him questionly then looked back at the paper.
I suddenly realized what was in my hands. She filed for divorce. Loud sobs erupted from my body before i could stop them. Ash patted my back comfortingly. “She's just hurt….She’ll come back.”
She’ll come back. She can't leave. please….don't leave.
