Characters
Andy Biersack
The new guy. He is 18 years of age and very self confident. Nobody knows a lot about him, but he is a very intriguing and charismatic person. Andy doesn't want to fit in with the mainstream popularity and is passionate about his music above all else. He has just returned from living in Los Angeles for 6 months (acting) and is already sick of the year of school lying ahead of him.
Gwendolyn Fields
17 years old and in her last year of school Gwen is the story's main character. She's not exactly an outsider, but definitely more of a loner and likes keeping to herself. She's a brooder, quiet most of the time and people don't know what is going on in her mind. She doesn't open up easily and the only one she talks to is Jenna. Gwen lives with her single mum and tries to pull herself together for her sake: acting like the good girl she's actually not. With the weight of the world getting harder to hold up she is just about to go off the rails.
Hunter
Hunter is introduced later on. She ran away from home when she was 16 and is now 19 years old. Being tough as nails is what helped her gain her position in what people would call "the wrong crowd". Hunter is a very personal character, who doesn't let people in easily and will do whatever it takes to survive.
Jenna Thompson
Gwendolyn's best friend. She is 17 years old, outgoing, funny and popular without being the typical cheerleader type - on the contrary: She is in a band, likes spiders and will not take shit from anyone. Jenna is often the center of attention and always has something going on with one boy or another. Despite being so different to Gwen, they have a similar mindset and are very close.
Kyle Benson
Another new kid. Kyle is quite shy and spends most of his time drawing and watching anime. Gwen and he become friends in the beginning of the school year, and he turns out to be a quirky and very kind guy with a big heart. He changed schools due to bullying and is always careful not to offend anybody. Kyle is also interested in photography and always looking for abandoned houses and such around town.
Miriam Fields
Gwendolyn's mum. She is 41 years old and a single mum after she split up with Gwen's dad. He moved to the other side of the country, and they have hardly been in contact since. She works as a primary school teacher in a town nearby. Her daughter means the world to her even though they are very different. Miriam is a kind and caring woman with high standards and an accomplished life despite struggles every now and again.
Nick Cullham
Nick is in the same grade as Gwen and part of the football team (not american football, you'd call it soccer). He's a nice guy, liked by basically everybody and Gwen has had a slight crush on him since grade ten. He has had various girlfriends, but is not a player and almost on the shy side despite being a sunny-boy and quite well known.
