My Fallen Angel

Fruity Drinks

"What about him?" he asked, and I shook my head.
"No."
"That one?"
"I don't like his beard."
Ashlan huffed.
"What about her? She's pretty. Works just the same."
I scowled at him. "Ashlan, no!"
He sighed, leaning his arms back on the bar as we overlooked the crowd while also watching the guys make fools out of themselves; I think Andy was really pissed at Juliet over the fight on the phone.
So he was trying to drink her away.
"Here," Ashlan slid a drink to me, apparently tired of trying to pick mortals for me to sleep with.
"It tastes bad," I said, refusing to drink it.
"No, that was CCs liquor. This is a fruity concoction I think you'll love."
I frowned, but I took a sip, and blinked.
It doesn't taste bad after all.
"See?" he sent me a smile as I downed my third one a few minutes later. "Good, right?"
"It is!" I agreed quickly, and he laughed.
He leaned forward, pressing a kiss against my ear, nuzzling.
"Want another one?"
"Sure."
I was starting to feel really good all of a sudden, and everything kind of tingled; it was quite a nice feeling, actually.
Ashlan chuckled, raising his hand for another, and I leaned into him, giggling.
This felt so nice!
"I should get you drunk more often," he chuckled as I finished half the drink already.
"Is that what this is? It's wonderful!" I gasped, leaning back in my chair. I felt Ashlans hand right me before I fell back, chuckling at me.
I heard music suddenly, at least a song I liked, and I whirled around on my sear
"I wanna dance!" I hopped to my feet, and pulled on his arm. "Let's dance!"
"Uh, no thanks, babe," he shook his head. "You go on!"
"Aww," I pouted. "But I don't wanna dance by myself!"
Ash hesitated, then grabbed someone as they started by.
"Andy! Bro, dance with my woman."
Andy?
Andy looked surprised, and I could tell he was as buzzed as I was.
And I meant that literally, something was buzzing.
I frowned down at myself, and then patted Ashley.
"You're buzzing!" I gasped. "Watch for bees!"
Ashlan looked at me, kind of startled, and then burst into laughter. I continued patting him until I found the source of bees, and then I fished the phone out of his jeans, glancing at the caller I.D. Before he took it from me.
"Man, watch her, will you? I gotta take a call," he chuckled, hopping to his feet.
I pouted at him, and he chuckled as he gave me a quick kiss before darting off.
I grabbed my drink, finished it, and then turned to Andy expectantly.
"Dance with me!"
"Uh, Kenna," he rubbed the back of his head, "that's probably not a good idea. I'm wasted, I'm just gonna ---."
"Why does no one wanna dance with me?" I whined, tugging on his shirt. "Pleasssseeee. It'll be like old times, promise!"
"Old times?" he frowned at me as I drug him towards the dance floor.
I pulled him into the crowd by his shirt, and he chuckled; why was I so funny all of a sudden?
I closed my eyes, letting the music sweep through me, and I started moving.
"Don't be a buzz kill!" I told Andy where he just stood there. I grabbed his hands, forcing him to move with me, and he laughed, spinning me away and then pulling me back.
I giggled, and for a few minutes, I had the most fun I'd had since I'd Fell.
I loved drinking!
I felt completely disconnected, and it was wonderful!
I fell against Andys chest, his hands resting on my hips.
"Kenna, I think we'd better go," he said, his lips at my ear so I could hear him over the music. "You're way wasted."
"But I don't wanna go!" I protested as he pulled me off the floor and back to the bar. "I do want another drink!"
"No more drinks," he told me sternly, signaling so he could pay his tab.
"Why do you have to be so bossy?" I complained, struggling to get my arm through my jacket.
Andy sighed, taking it from me and helping me in it.
"CC! I'm taking Kenna back to the hotel." he called, and I peered around him, seeing CC sitting at the bar, a black hat on his head.
Had he been there the entire time?
"Okay. Ash is around here somewhere," CC called back.
I wanted his hat.
I reached over, tugging it off his head and pulling it on mine. It sunk low over my eyes, and I frowned.
"Why can't I see?"
The hat was lifted up, and CCs face was amused. "Dude, is she wasted?"
"Very. I think Ash kept plying her with one of those fruity drinks," Andy sighed as I fought the keep the hat, flailing at him when he tried to take it.
"Noo!" I complained, clamping it down on my head.
"Kenna!"
"Let her keep it. Drunk Kenna is just as unreasonable as the normal one," CC sighed, and I stuck my tongue out at him like I'd seen children do.
He laughed at me. "Take her back, man, before she passes out."
Andy shook his head, and took my hand, dragging me behind him out of the club.
I took a deep breath of the cold night air, and skipped forward, wanting to run the heat off my skin.
"Kenna!"
"Why are you being so slow?" I called over my shoulder, dancing around happily to face him. I caught his hands, dragging him forward. "Race with me!"
"You shouldn't be so energetic," he grumbled at me, flicking my conquested hat. "You're gonna have the worst hangover."
What was a hangover?
I spun around aimlessly, humming whatever came to mind, letting my fingers skim the wall of the buildings as I went.
I stopped as we reached a windowed store, peering at my vague appearance. I leaned forward, letting my fingers meet my reflection.
Andy stopped beside me, watching me impatiently.
"Kenna, what are you doing? Let's go!"
"Do I really look like this?" I frowned, touching my face. "I used to be so much prettier. Do I look bad to you?"
I turned to look at him.
He rolled his eyes, and his hand clamped on my arm, dragging me forward.
"Why are you being so mean all of a sudden?" I demanded, trotting to keep up with him. "And I have short legs!"
He slowed his pace, and I could see the hotel rising in the distance, the bright lights blinding me.
"Sorry, I'm just really wanting to get back and get some sleep," he sighed, loosening his grip. "I'm tired."
"Are you still mad at Juliet?' I asked, gazing up at him.
"Maybe. I dunno."
"So did you two have a fight? Because you've been moody since you talked to her and not really nice." I told him, and he sent me a frown as he held open the door for me.
"We argued, but it's nothing serious."
"Did you fight with her like Ashlan does with me?" I asked, he still pulling me along. "Because he can be a real asshole."
Andy chuckled, pressing a button on a wall.
"Teleporting box!" I exclaimed, excited as the magic doors slid open, revealing the empty interior.
I hopped inside, Andy stepping beside me, and I started pressing all the buttons, even when he tried to stop me and gave an aggravated sigh.
I giggled, watching as one hallway disappeared again and again.
We must have reached ours eventually, because he tugged me out of the magic box and down towards where I think my room was.
"Where's your key?" he asked impatiently, holding his hand out.
"What key?"
He frowned at me. "Your key card to open the door."
"Ashlan has it."
"What? Why does he have your key card?"
"I dunno." I blinked at him. "Why are you mad?"
"Dammit, I'm not mad," he muttered, running his hands through his hair, antsy.
I frowned.
"Dammit, come on. We'll just go to my room until Ashley gets back," he finally said, and pulled me behind him like I was some errant child.
He was hurting my feelings.
Why was he being so mean?
We stopped by his room, and he swiped his hand over a box sticking from the door, making it unlock. He stepped inside and I followed, seeing it looked exactly like mine.
Except his bed looked more bouncy.
I kicked off my shoes and then ran toward it, throwing myself onto the covers and bouncing, my hat flying off my head and disappearing.
"Andy! Come jump with me!" I ordered, hopping back and forth --- it was almost like flying again!
I loved the rush!
Andy rolled his eyes at me, shedding his jacket and tossing it on the desk.
"Just don't fall," he told me, looking down at his phone.
I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror across the room.
I had been wearing heels initially to match the black dress Ashley had coerced me into wearing. The skirt part flailed everywhere as I moved, and I giggled, seeing the funny way it twisted.
I pulled my legs up, falling back on my back and looking up at the top of the canopy bed.
"it looks like stars!" I cooed, seeing the sparkles. "Andy, come look!"
"I see it," he told me, his fingers tapping quickly and jerkily on his phone.
"You're not even looking!" I accused him, sitting up.
Andy huffed, raising irritated eyes from his phone and to where I pointed.
"It does look like stars," he grunted, looking down at his phone as it pinged again, and I scowled, hopping to my feet.
I grabbed his phone, tossing it carelessly into a chair, ignoring his yelp. I grabbed the front of his shirt and drug him forward, shoving him on his back onto the bed.
"Look!" I ordered, crawling beside him."It's stars!"
"Yes, Kenna, it looks like stars," he sighed, and ran his hands down his face, his knees hanging off the ends of the bed.
I frowned, rising to my elbows beside him.
"Don't be sad," I told him, poking his cheek. "There's no need to be! You've been given such a gift!"
He pulled his hands away, eyeing me.
"Ash really doesn't need to get you drunk unless he plans on dealing with you."
I frowned. "Why do you keep saying mean things to me? I was trying to be nice."
He blinked, startled, then sighed for what had to be the hundredth time.
I laid back down, gazing up at the pretty sparkles again.
"I'm sorry, Kenna, I didn't mean to be mean," he said after a moment, rolling to his side to face me. "I'm sorry."
I glanced over at him, then shrugged, unable to help the smile.
"I can't be mad at you, don't worry," I giggled, poking his perfect nose.
Andiel chuckled, and I let my fingers trail down his cheek, loving the sound of his happiness. I loved touching him too.
Wait.
I frowned, and pressed both of my hands against his face, staring intensely into his eyes.
"Uh, what are you doing?" he asked after a moment, his lips reminding me of a fish as I squished them.
I giggled again, unable to help it.
He wasn't enamored of me at my touch; had the alcohol dimmed my powers ?
That was wonderful! It meant I could touch him and the others without worry.
"I should get drunk more often," I sighed, running my hands through his hair.
Andy chuckled again, and tugged on my wrists.
"Maybe not so wasted," he told me, gazing down at me with his pretty eyes.
I wrinkled my nose up at him.
"So are you not sad anymore?" I asked him curiously. "Because you shouldn't be. You should only be happy!"
"How can anyone be sad with you around?" he half-smiled as he looked at me. "You're like a constant ray of sunshine."
I grinned.
I liked that.
I leaned up, impulsively kissing his cheek, inhaling the scent of smoke and whatever cologne he'd decided to wear.
"You always smell so good," I sighed, pressing my nose against his neck and nuzzling closer.
"Kenna," he murmured, pulling away from me. "Don't."
"Don't what?" I blinked at him.
"Ashleys probably going to call soon, " he said, sitting up. "Then you can get your room key."
"If he ever stops talking to Kacy," I sighed, stretching my arms out.
"What?" Andys eyes shot to my face, and I frowned at his tone.
"That's who called earlier, I think. They talk all the time," I yawned, starting to feel sleepy.
I drew my legs closer to me, starting to feel the chill of the room.
"Are you sure it was Kacy?"
"Yep. She's pretty, I saw her picture."
"That fucker." Andy muttered, abruptly angry.
I hesitated, sitting up. "What's wrong? Why are you angry?"
"Because! He's ch---." he abruptly stopped, and clenched his jaw. "Never mind."
I hesitated, sitting in my knees beside him.
"Don't be mad at Ashlan!" I told him, wrapping my arms around his shoulders. "He's stupid, but he's not bad."
"Kenna, you have no idea, do you?"
"About what?" I asked, leaning away slightly as he turned to glance at me.
I was so sleepy.
I rubbed my eyes, and Andy sighed, shaking his head.
"Nothing. Just lie down and try to sleep it off."
"Don't leave me!" I burst, suddenly panicked at the thought. I grabbed him as he started to stand, pulling a little too hard, and sending him sprawling down beside me.
I giggled at his expression.
He frowned, turning to look at me where I sat beside him, my hair falling into my eyes.
He shook his head, rising to his hands and reaching over, brushing my hair behind my ear.
I sighed, turning my face into his palm, craving the warmth I knew was there.
"Kenna," Andy sighed, "you're so wasted."
"Mmm," I closed my eyes, pressing my lips into his palm and wishing I could stay here forever.
I never wanted to go anywhere else.
