I knew she was gone when I finally came back.
I could see the guys all standing outside, looking panicked, and I couldn't sense her.
She had really left.
I hadn't thought she would. I had scared her so bad she'd actually left.
Fuck.
Andy turned, spotting me walking down the road toward them.
"What the hell did you do to her?" He bellowed as soon as I was within earshot. "Where is she?"
CC and Jake grabbed him, holding him back like he could do anything to me.
"How the fuck should I know?" I muttered as I joined them. "What was all that, man?" CC asked, stepping in front of Andy. "You could have seriously hurt Kenna! And now she's run off!" "She'll be back," I grunted, and started up the steps onto the bus. "She's annoying like that."
"Ashley! She was so upset she was sick!" CC and the rest of the guys piling onto the bus behind me.
I ignored them.
I ambled to the Fridge, and pulled out some beer, popping the tab.
I wanted to drown out their voices.
I'd spent the entire night wandering aimlessly, unable to stop thinking.
I shouldn't have freaked on her like that, but... How could she have thought that would help anything? Killing him? Really? "So stupid," I muttered, crushing the now empty beer can. "Ashley, you can't ignore us!"
"Fuck off," I snapped, glaring at all of them. "If she's fucking gone, who cares? You guys have no idea how lucky we are! Especially you," I muttered at Andy, staggering towards the bunks. "She would've killed you."
I might have had a couple drinks before I'd made my way back.
"What the fuck!"
"Leave him, Andy. He's wasted."
Waste away, I thought to myself, taking another long swig of beer.
