Tonight's the Night

Andy awoke to find he was alone in the room. Alone? That couldn't be right, Ashley would never leave him alone.
Ashley would never trust him alone... or would he? It appeared he did... Was Ashley even home? He got out of the bed and peeked his head out the door, hit by a strong scent. Andy sniffed the air curiously.
"Flowers and something else.." He furrowed his brow curiously, not being able to understand the scent was that of candles, and peered down the stairs, only able to see the floor in the glow of candlelight. What was going on?
Andy tip toed down the stairs, absolutely silent. He saw Ashley out on the balcony, pouring a dark colored liquid into two expensive looking glasses, who didn't seem to notice Andy was downstairs. Taking advantage of the moment, Andy looked around and saw a candle sitting in a ring of rose petals. He tilted his head and knelt down to the height of the coffee table, watching the small, flickering flame with his curious eyes. He shakily lifted a finger and pricked the little orb, flinching back with a yelp.
"Andy!?" Ashley whirled around and ran back inside. "I thought you were- Are you okay?" His worried eyes looked him over.
"That thing hurt my finger." Andy mumbled, sucking on his burned index finger. Ashley relaxed and crouched down.
"That's a candle, Andy. It's gonna burn you if you touch it." Ashley chuckled softly. "Let me see."
Andy stubbornly pulled out his finger and showed him, looking away in embarrassment. Ashley took his hand and kissed the tip of his finger. "Better?" He teased.
Andy stood up, taking his hand back. "Yes." He mumbled, looking around. "So what is all this for? Are you having company? I can.. do you want me to go back upstairs?" He bit his lip. Ashley shook his head and put an arm around his waist with ease, causing Andy to blush delicately as he was led outside.
"How long was I asleep?" Andy frowned when he finally noticed how dark it was out.
"Quite a while." Ashley laughed, gently sitting him down in one of the chairs. "Ever had wine before?"
Andy frowned more and shook his head.
"Didn't think so." Ashley rolled his eyes. "That's why I got sparkling wine. No alcohol. I didn't want to make you sick on our first date."
With hesitance, Andy sipped the dark liquid and narrowed his eyes as he tried coming to a conclusion. "I like it." He smiled. "Wait." He stopped suddenly and looked at him, cheeks burning up.
"What?"
"Date? Did you just- this is a date?"
"I said I'd make you fall in love with me, didn't I?" Ashley grinned. Andy shyly looked down and bit his lip. "What's wrong..?" Ashley frowned suddenly, heart pounding. Did he do something wrong?
Andy shook his head and looked over the balcony a bit. "I just.. imagined my first 'date' differently. But I guess, being that I've had my life planned out for me since my birth, I shouldn't have gotten my hopes up.." He sighed softly. Ashley rubbed his eyes.
"Andy- I'm sorry. I should have asked.." Ashley got up and knelt by his chair. "Tell me, then. What did you imagine.."
Andy turned his head to look at him. He looked at the table as his hands fidgeted in his lap. "Just... back home there was this clearing a few miles from where the pack was. It was really nice at night, even when it was bad weather, it was so peaceful. I imagined it there.." Andy shrugged. "It's dumb.."
Ashley shook his head and grabbed his hand. "Nope. C'mon." he blew out the candles on their way out. "I'm giving you your ideal first date."
Andy's eyes widened as Ashley tugged him out to the car. "But-"
"No but's. Get in." He said and walked around to the other side. Andy got in and buckled up, watching out the window as Ashley drove. The car stopped and Ashley got out, going around and opening Andy's door as well.
"Lead the way." He smiled, gesturing out. Andy smiled faintly and got out, taking a deep breath and bolting ahead of him, shifting as he ran. Ashley followed him, doing the same.
It wasn't long until Andy stopped, padding through a bunch of trees and weeds into a perfect clearing. And it was just that; perfect. Ashley thought so, anyways. Andy did too. The moon wasn't full, but it glowed nonetheless, and few clouds blocked it's light. It was beautiful. Breath-taking.
Andy sat down, looking up just like Ashley. Ashley sat directly beside him, their tails crossing over and linking. Ashley tilted his chin up and howled, loud and echoing off the night sky. Andy did the same, the sounds harmonizing together.
Andy laid his head against Ashley, shyly nuzzling into him.
