Wolf

Always Will Love You Still

Andy and Ashley managed to both move past what had happened, although it took more effort on Andy's part. That was mainly because of his hormones making pretty much any emotion unstable. It was just a bit of a challenge to cope with the fact he could have been killed and it would have been his own fault.
Ashley seemed fine, though. Somehow that made Andy feel a little better; knowing that his mate was okay always made him feel better.
Ashley also had agreed to let Andy live with his former pack, and insisted on staying with him. If this were the beginning of their relationship, back when Andy first arrived to Ashley, Andy would have thrown a ridiculous tantrum. But now things were different.
Now being with Ashley was all he wanted. Truly. Being without Ashley was like being without oxygen. It was cheesy, but it was true.
It all made sense now; the whole mating thing. He never believed, or liked the idea of, soul mates. He didn't like to think that his significant other was already chosen for him. Now he couldn't imagine his life any other way. Without Ashley, he'd still be a stuck-up brat. He still kind of was, but he was, as Ashley put it, a 'lovable stuck-up brat.'
Andy was now at the 8 1/2 months mark, and did nothing but lay around lazily. Who could blame him? He could hardly stay balanced when he was sitting, so it's not like he'd get very far if he tried walking around. Currently, he laid on his side in a small clearing, letting the sun coat his snow white fur. His eyes were closed, every muscle relaxed, and breaths slow and steady. Everything was peaceful.
Okay, not everything. The pups that were due any day now were moving around inside of him, and usually the squirming was cute, sometimes funny, but it wasn't at all helpful when Andy wanted a nap. Not to mention they were moving around a lot more than usual... He huffed and opened an eye, looking at his mate who sat beside his head. Andy made a soft whining sound to get his attention and craned his neck to nudge his paw as well.
Ashley looked down, warm brown eyes scanning him over. He took note of his discomfort and moved to lay in front of him, resting his nose against Andy's stomach. Tenderly, he nudged his nose across the warm, white fur, in an attempt to settle the pups down a bit. Andy made another soft noise, but Ashley assumed it was just the sound of him relaxing a bit more.
Ashley felt Andy tense, however, and for a moment he was confused. Then, without any warning, Andy jolted upwards, eyes shooting open, body rigid, and he let out the most pained howl Ashley had ever heard in his life. They locked eyes, and everything Ashley needed to know was easily conveyed by the pain and fear that resided in Andy's eyes. He was giving birth.

Hours passed. Neither Ashley nor Andy knew how many, but they knew it had been more than a few. It didn't matter, though. The long hours of pain were over, and the five small pups were all huddled up into Andy's side. Three boys, two girls. They hadn't named any of them yet; they were going to wait until the small pups could be brought home.
Andy loved each of them with all of his heart, he was so in love with his little babies that his heart was swelling with joy. The runt of the litter, however, he could already tell was special. Being that she was the runt, she was obviously the tiniest, but that wasn't what caught his eye. It was the fact that, as opposed to the dark shaded fur of her siblings, she bore the same gorgeous white fur that Andy had. The pups had yet to open their eyes, but he wouldn't be surprised if hers were blue, too. It was obvious, and Ashley could tell as well, that she was already going to be momma's little girl. The other girl of the litter, on the contrary, was already trying to move to find Ashley. Ashley helped nudge her back towards Andy and laid his head next to her.
Each and every one of them were beyond perfect. Beyond what Andy had imagined.

Ashley returned back to their home a few days after, against his will being that he had a business to oversee. Andy stayed with his mom and dad for another few months until the pups could successfully shift out of their puppy form. When that time came, Ashley came to get them, letting Andy sit in the backseat with the five small infants. It was going to be a hassle to figure out how to care for human babies, but it was going to be worth it. Looking at his beautiful children, he knew that everything had been and will be worth it.

"So what did you decide to name them?" Ashley asked once all five infants were asleep in their cribs, sliding his arms around Andy's waist.
Andy looked at them all and smiled, leading him over to one of the cribs. "Drake..." He moved to the second, "Jordan..." He moved to the third, "Mike..." Andy continued on to the two girls' cribs, stopping between them. "Samantha, and Alice."

Ashley hugged Andy close, nuzzling his nose into the crook of his neck. "Mm. Wonderful." He murmured. "Tomorrow we can go get their birth certificates taken care of."
Andy paused, and looked over his shoulder. "Birth what?" He furrowed his brow.
"Certificates. It's just something we gotta do. It isn't a big deal, it's a normal human thing." Ashley hummed.
Andy rolled his eyes. "Humans do stupid things." He mumbled.
"Well, technically speaking, we're both humans right now, and you're not a stupid thing." Ashley grinned.
Andy furrowed his brow again. "Wait- what?"
"You said humans do stupid things. I did you. You're not a stupid thing." Ashley explained smoothly.
"You did.. Hey!" Andy hit his shoulder. "I didn't mean it like that, and you know it." He whisper-yelled, careful not to wake any of the kids. Ashley chuckled softly and tugged him out of the nursery, closing the door behind him and leading him to their bedroom down the hall.
"I know, I know." Ashley hummed and kissed his cheek. "Mind if I do something else that humans do, though?"
Andy shrugged, changing out of his clothes and putting on a silk bathrobe. "I don't care. I still stand by my point, though, humans do really stupid, pointless things."
All he heard was a bit of shuffling around, but no verbal response. Andy rolled his eyes and turned. "Ashley, what is it?" He sighed and finally looked at him. Ashley was where he had been standing before, but this time down on one knee. Andy had seen that position before, but only on television. He didn't think it was an actual thing. He still didn't quite understand, and stepped closer, noticing the tiny box that was in Ashley's hands.

"This... is another thing humans do. It's how they show their life-long dedication and love for their significant other." Ashley explained awkwardly. "I figured, I mean... Why not? So- This is a bit weird to ask being that you're still not used to a lot of human customs and traditions, but will you marry me?"
Andy's jaw dropped. Marry? That word he had heard many times, enough to know what it meant. He nodded quickly, standing still as Ashley stood and slid the ring onto one of Andy's fingers.
"There." Ashley breathed and kissed him lovingly. "Now we're official in the human world." He teased softly.

Andy smiled happily. "I love you." He whispered and pecked his lips.
