Night Watch I: Eliza, Ward of Andrew

note: this chapter continues the potentially upsetting scenario from the last chapter, but i feel it is likely somewhat less triggering that the previous chapter. again, i have tried to be sensitive. please continue at your own discretion.

*Andrew’s POV*

Eliza tensed and I knew something was terribly wrong, she didn’t seem to see me. She went slack for an instant, then was grimacing horribly, I didn't know what to do! "Eliza-" Suddenly, she had both of my wrists in such a rigid grip, I felt they were being crushed! I didn’t struggle, I didn’t want to make it worse. I needed to try and get through to her. Blast it, I was such an idiot, I should have been more sensitive!

I spoke softly, “Eliza, it’s Andrew. I won’t hurt you, I promise.” Nothing, other than a silent tear, and Eliza’s pupils starting to dilate. I suspected she might be doing permanent nerve damage to my hands, but I wouldn’t struggle and make it worse. My heart ached for her, to see her in so much pain- what had happened? What could I do?
