Falling

"Everyone deserves a second chance, even if they have made many, many mistakes Scarlett." I said.

Maybe she had changed...

"Thank you Blaise. Ok, so my name is Scarlett Matthews, I am 18 years old, I live with my parents and I have a pet turtle named Squidge." She said laughing.

"You have a pet turtle?! That's so cool!" I replied. She seemed so nice, I mean, she did seem as if she had changed.

We talked for ages after that, comparing each others live, swapping embarrassing stories:

"Ok so this one time, I was at the pet store and I was buying food for my turtle when I saw this really hot guy, I wasn't with Jake at the time though, so I went up to him and started talking to him when this massive rabbit hopped onto my feet and I got so scared I fell over backwards flashing my panties at everyone. OMG, I think I died that day. Needless to say, I didn't get the guys number!" She said laughing.

I don't remember laughing as hard as that with anyone else, and me and Scarlett seemed to click, as if we were meant to be friends. I wiped a tear away from my eyes, and clutched my belly, it hurt but I was crying with laughter.

We didn't realise the time when Andy came in from upstairs and started to ask me something before turning his attention to Scarlett .

"What's she doing here?" He asked, panic in his voice.

"Its ok, please, I came to say sorry. I've been such a douche, I let others control me and I didn't think for myself. I was stupid and selfish and cowardly. I am really sorry Andy." Scarlett said.

"How do I know that you aren't lying?!" he asked.

"I trust her." I said.

"I can tell she has changed and plus, you don't know the people at my school, they pushed her into it. Andy you need to trust me," I said.

"Fine, but, I don't trust her...she put you in hospital Blaise!" He said

"Look, I know she has made mistakes but you need to trust me Andy." I said, making it clear that I had won.

"Ok, how long have you been here?" He asked Scarlett.

"A few hours now I think. Oh fuck, I need to get going." She said, standing up abruptly.

"Where are you gonna go?" I asked her.

"Umm, I don't know, I left all my stuff on Juliet's bus, i'll probably have to stay with her even though I hate her." She explained.

"Oh, right ok, um, bye Scarlett, it was nice getting to know the real you," I said, somewhat devastated.

"Yeah, it was fun hanging out with you Blaise, see you tomorrow I guess," she said giving me a quick hug.

She turned to Andy, "Um....im really sorry about what I said to you before, I just, bye Andy." She said, obviously changing her mind on what she was going to say, In a way, I felt sorry for her.

We headed back inside after Scarlett drifted off and we couldn't see her anymore.
