Succubus

Blue irises, enchantment swap, and... tacos?

*Oona's POV*

Curses! I didn’t move a muscle, didn’t make a sound. I just watched Andy to see what he would do. He looked me, seemingly right in the eye, with an intense gaze for what must have been around a minute. Despite my failure, I felt my mind rapidly cycling through possible descriptors for his rather delightful irises- sky blue, with cerulean and dark, slate grey rims, no; baby blue, no, Carolina blue, with steel blue, no air force blue edges, no… he blinked once, but didn’t move.

Hmm… His respiratory rate had never changed. It didn’t seem as though he was actually conscious after all.

My enchantment was still in place; I could feel it. I had never had a human react during the placement of a seed, and I could not have even guessed how many times I’d done it before. I wasn’t sure what this meant, or what to do about it.

Moving very slowly, I waved a hand in front of Andy’s eyes. He did not react, did not track my hand with his eyes. Speaking casually, I asked, “Andy, are you awake, can you hear me?” Nothing.

I then spoke with a bit of vapor, able to draw answers from the unconscious, “Andy, is my spell all that’s keeping you asleep?”

Andy’s lips moved, though his gaze was still unaffected. “Mmm-hmm… no veggies… you woke me up… tacos… it tickled…” Damn! As soon as my spell was lifted, he was going to sit right up in bed. Well, things were off to an exceptionally rocky start. Luckily, I was very talented.

I poured all the opalescent essence I had with me into an incredibly powerful enchantment. I added a comforting fog, an enveloping cottony down, and the feeling of an embrace from a loved one. It was very draining and costly, but it absolutely had to work, if only for a short amount of time. I gently placed it on Andy. “Andy, you will close your eyes, and fall back into a deep slumber until I have left your house.” His eyes closed. So far, so good.

I stood and got ready to bolt in case I had to. Then I lifted my first, milder enchantment.

Andy stayed asleep. Excellent. I quickly left the room, then touched a mirror to travel to my own home.

I had a lot of questions, and who knew if anyone could answer them. We would have to see how things developed with Andy after tonight’s fiasco. My plan would likely have to drastically change. I wondered what I had done wrong.

Notes

so here's an update, per request. hope it's ok. :O)

It seems the answers of the unconscious are littered with... deep wisdom? Heh-heh.

Sorry, I'm going on a bit of a writing strike until Onefinalfightdoe starts writing again. Made me do it.
