Kissing the Concrete

Chapter 55: I've missed you

"Oh thank god you're still alive."

"Oh thank god you're still with me."

I couldn't stop staring into his eyes, as Andy's parents approached him to hug him. We were all really happy and it was a family moment. Well, family plus me.

"You've met my parents without me?" Andy said, surprised.

"Yeah, she called me right after the accident." Amy filled in.

"Aww, I was going to make that day special for you!" He said, looking me in the eyes, smiling slightly. I giggled.

"What so funny?" He asked.

"I don't know. It's just...I've missed you." I had tears in my eyes at this point out of happiness and relief. Possibly it could also have a tad to do with the insomnia I've suffered due to Andy. He seemed to notice my tiredness and the tears.

"Don't cry, Iris. I know it's a happy cry, but don't cry. It's fine now."

I swept away the tears as best I could.

"You just make me so happy."

"I know. I feel the same about you." He said, in response. The emotions overwhelmed me so much, and I didn't know what to say anymore. Our eyes spoke for themselves.

I didn't take long for Andy to be signed out from the hospital, as the only real requirement for him to get healthy again was for him to stick to his antibiotics. It felt good to be back home, knowing for once that I could sleep tonight, not having to worry.

This was true love, I was sure of it. Despite the struggles, we stayed together.

The first thing we did was to visit that ice cream shop by the river bend. It was just as lovely as the very first time we went there, but this time, there were a lot of information to fill in.

"So, what has happened since I went out of the picture?"

"Well, you've got an english assignment due tomorrow. Atleast that is what Ashley told me."

"Fuck! Can't I skip it?" Andy responded, laughing.

"Most likely. It's not like you don't have an excuse."

"I've used the coma excuse once before, but let's hope Ms. Watson will fall for it again."

"What? No way!" I exclaimed.

"Yes way!" Andy said, leaning over the table to kiss my cheek. "Back in like the first week. I skipped so many classes that I had to make up an excuse. She totally fell for it, but I had to do some fake paperwork for it to hold. Totally worth it." He said, winking.

"I learn something new every day about you."

"Well I'm a strange person, I guess. But for real, the interesting stuff in school? Did anything of worth happen?"

"Well you know, Elvis came back to life and performed in the library and a few kids won a million dollars, but other than that, nothing."

"Huh. Guess it was a boring week."

"Pretty much. It was empty without you."

Notes

IMPORTANT A/N!!

So, yeah, not the most amazing of updates, kind of a filler. This is either the second last or the last chapter in a while, possibly just a little more than a week, since I am going to the Czech republic on thursday for the heart of europe debating tournament. Also, it is partially due to the fact that I sort of suffer a bit of a writers block. I might have time to update tomorrow or on wednesday if I come up with anything, but if not, then it's bye until I get back. If anyone has any tips on what arguments you could use to argue why feminism is/isn't harmed by sexually assertive female pop stars then please message me, as I could use that that for a debate in the tournament.

Almost 20 000 views on this little thing!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!! It's a pleasure to write it, and it gets even more fun when I know that there are people enjoying reading it!
