Kissing the Concrete
Chapter 38: Departure
I looked like shit. After being tied up for days, barely any water and no food, I was dehydrated. The physical abuse had given me scars on my arms, in my face and on my legs, bruises everywhere, and the back of my white t-shirt had bloodstains on it. I didn't realize that it was as bad as it was until I got in the car and looked in the mirror.
"Oh shit. I'm a mess."
"You look fine, Iris. You're beautiful."
"I look disgusting. It's awful. I need clean clothes and something to drink and eat."
"Let's not waste any time then. I'll take you out for dinner. You can just take my shirt." He said, pulling the black t-shirt over his head, revealing his bare chest. e I wanted kiss him, but since we were in traffic, I realized it would be slightly dangerous, so I held it back.
We pulled into an italian restaurant that didn't seem too fancy (nor too sloppy), Andy put on his vest on top of his bare upper body and we got ourselves some food. A lot of people looked at us funny. I guess some of them might think that I was a victim of domestic abuse. Why would I care though? I had the love of my life right besides me.
"How's the food?" Andy said, looking at me munching the food. I was starving.
"Really...good. I'm sorry for not talking right now. I was just really hungry."
"It's fine." He said, kissing my forehead. "I'm just happy that you're still alive."
"Atleast we have nothing to be afraid of anymore."
"Exactly. Except for failing school."
"Yeah. We should really be going back home soon. I haven't been to school for quite some time. We can't stay here for too long."
"Sure. But we'll have to drive through the night and I haven't slept."
"Would you prefer me to drive then? Maybe it would be safer, atleast I had slept."
"Yeah. Let's go for that, if you're okay with it."
I nodded. "After all, you saved my life. I owe you for that."
He leaned in and kissed me. "You don't owe me a thing. I love you, remember? And if you love someone, you go out of your way to help them."
We got into the car after I had bought a red bull in order to get more energetic and be able to drive back home. But as soon as I got behind the wheel, I realized how tired I was. I wasn't comfortable driving right now, but I needed to get home before school tomorrow. Andy sat down besides me, leaning his tired head against the window. He was gorgeous when he slept. Guess I couldn't back out now.
I started the car and drove away from the restaurant out on the highway. This was going to be a long night.
Notes
Another chapter! Weehooo!
The reason I picked Pittsburgh btw as the city is because I've made a bit of research earier on that city. When I was in 8th grade, I wrote a story called GTMO, that partially transpired in Pittsburgh (and partially in gitmo). I still consider it my greatest work. However, because of this, I enjoy writing about the city. I really wish to go there some day.
Tomorrow will be my last day of writing this often before I travel abroad. I will try and write a lot of chapters, but I don't know how many I'll be able to write. Maybe 2 in a week. 3? 4? I'll try updating as often as possible, but I will have limited internet connection.
Thanks for reading! Shoutout goes to Yinbvbforever, who always has supported this story and left nice comments! Thank you!
