Kissing the Concrete

Chapter 25: The first letter

She kissed him as she gently rubbed his back and pulled him tightly towards her. I felt my heart tensing up, beating faster. Was he going to push away? Or was he going to hold on and break my heart?

My question was quickly answered by the quick push and "What the fuck?" that was uttered by Andy.

"I want you back Andy. I've missed yoouuuu!" She said. She sounded like she was on something.

"Get off me and leave me alone. I've moved on!"

"But I love you!" She said, constantly trying to kiss him. I felt Andy's hand creep up behind my back, grabbing my shoulder and holding it in a tight grip. My arm grabbed his waist and my head leaned on his shoulder.

"You should have thought of that before you cheated on me. I felt lost without you for a while, but then I found real love. I've found somebody new, and I want nothing to do with you." He said, pulling me even closer. I checked his eyes for tears, but all I could see was fury. I guess he had spoken the truth: he wasn't in love with her anymore.

"Just saying, you haven't seen the last of me." She said, turned around and headed out. I guessed on her scent that she was going out for a smoke.

Ignoring the past instance, as the band started playing a new song, we resorted to slowdancing. I had never heard of this band before, but they were quite good actually.

"Have you ever played this venue?" I asked Andy, curiously.

"Yeah, multiple times. Last time we did it was two weeks ago. Why weren't you there?"

"I know nothing about your band, except that you're called Black Veil Brides. How were I supposed to know that you were playing here when you didn't even tell me?"

"We play metalcore music. I think you would really enjoy it! You should come to our next band practice, it's always good with external input!"

"I don't know," I said, hesitating. "I don't think Ashley and I are on good terms yet. He seems to hold a grudge against me."

"I'm sure he'll come to terms with you soon enough. Besides, CC and Jake really likes you. Jinxx too."

"Jinxx?"

"Oh right, Jeremy. We've always called him Jinxx."

I giggled a bit and tried resting my head on his shoulder for a while, completely forgetting that it was the wounded shoulder.

"Aouwch!" Andy exclaimed.

"What?"

"Bullet wound. It hurts like a bitch."

I gently kissed the skin next to the bandage affectionately. "I'm sorry."

"It's okay, Iris." He smiled back at me as he kissed my forehead.

I got home alone after one of the most hectic days ever, but also my first date ever, feeling sad about the fact that I had to part ways with Andy. Ever since he had been released from the hospital, the day had been amazing. But I realized we needed time appart as well, I hadn't left his side since last night and I was emotionally exhausted. Andy had decided to himself clean up the mess that now was in his house, but told me that he could come over as soon as he was done.

I was looking through the pantry, but found nothing I was in the mood for eating. The only thing I felt like having was glass of juice before getting a shower and putting on pj's. I went out to get the mail and found a letters and a postcard, all written to me. It wasn't that important though, so I decided the shower was more important.

My hair was slightly tangled at the ends and I was careful brushing it out. I got into my red, old pj's, my favourite ones and read through the mail. The postcard was from my parents, talking about the apparent beauty in New York City, the hard work and how they missed me. I didn't believe it. If they really missed me that badly they would have called me.

I used the back of a knife to open up the envelope that sealed the letter. There was no return adress on it, which was strange. Infact, the entire concept of a handwritten letter sent to me seemed kind of fishy. Why would anyone adress a handwritten letter to me? The only friends I had, I kept contact with via text.

I almost ripped out the cream-colored sheet of paper that made up the letter from the envelope and unfolded it. It only had a few words written on it, in small, cursive handwriting.

I'm after you, Iris. I'm looking for you. You haven't seen the last of me.

In pure shock I stared at the letter for a minute before throwing myself on the phone and calling Andy.

Notes

More drama! More surprises!

I know it might be stupid, but I need to keep this story interesting, and I have an idea of what I'll do for the next several chapters. But since it is a BVB-fanfic I will include a little bit more of them as well. Also, more new Andy and Iris. So far, it's almost kind of repetative.

Wasn't too satisfied with this chapter, but it is good enough, I guess. I could have written worse chapters. I feel like the style is really me, though. Plain beginning, dramatic ending. I'm sensing a pattern, but I try avoiding fillers atleast for a bit, now that the amount of updates per day will stagnate for the next month. I don't want to leave you waiting for days and then give you a crappy filler. I'm gonna keep the action going.
