The Wild Ones

Not again

The five finished their night’s set and were quickly engulfed in a crowd of people who were screaming and applauding them, Lauren and Sammi included. Both of them run up on stage and embrace their boyfriends. I just recently found out that my two best friends are dating the Mystic and the Destroyer. That doesn’t surprise me too much, Sammi and Lauren are easily the two prettiest girls in the legion.

I don’t join in the hubbub, suddenly so exhausted from today’s events that I can’t muster the energy to fight my way through the crowd, despite how much I want to talk to Andy. Instead, I slip quietly out the door and head for the barracks where the girls had shown me my bunk earlier. My tired brain is replaying the amazing performance that I just witnessed.

I have never given much thought about music before now, the only song I’ve ever heard being the ancient F.E.A.R. violin which announces and concludes every transmission. This is something different. The music played on that stage was wild, beautiful and free. Unlike the dry whining sound of the F.E.A.R. violin it made me feel as though I could be anyone I wanted to be, accomplish anything I dreamed of.

I’m so lost in my own thoughts that I don’t notice the tapping footsteps behind me. At least not until someone grabs me by the shoulders and slams me into the wall.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(Andy’s POV)
I replace the mic onto it’s stand and grin at the crowd, reveling in this incredible feeling. My brothers and I jump off the stage and are instantly surrounded by screaming people. I smile and thank them, impressed by their enthusiasm as always, and I search the crowd for Raven. For some reason I want her to be here; I saw her across the room while we were playing and she seemed to be enjoying herself but she’s not here now. I can’t help but feel disappointed, although I’m not sure why. After a while the shouting dies down and everyone starts towards the barracks.

Walking through the familiar tunnels, I’m still wondering where Raven disappeared too; Until I reach a blockage in the form of a crowd of people who have stopped at the base of the steps. They look alarmed and are are whispering urgently among themselves. When they realize I’m here they fall silent and attempt to clear a narrow path to the front. I push my way through the crowd to see a dark haired girl sprawled on the stone floor next to the bottom of the stairs. She appears to be unconscious and her dark hair is covering her face and he has several small bruises and scrapes along her arms. What happened? It looks like she was attacked by someone. My paranoia instantly flares up. Did F.E.A.R. find us? Are there shadow men still in the Catacombs? “That doesn’t make sense” I mutter to calm myself. If F.E.A.R. were here they wouldn’t just quietly attack one girl, they would have sent their shadow men to the polestar and killed us all.

“Get Lauren, tell her there will be someone waiting in the infirmary that needs some help.” I order the closest person to me, a stocky blond teenager. He nods and runs off in the direction we just came. Kneeling down beside the girl I gently slide one arm underneath her knees and the other under her shoulders. As I lift her off the ground her hair falls away from her face and I physically jolt with shock. It’s Raven, and judging from the bruises on her face this was no accident. Someone definitely attacked her. This only confuses me more, if F.E.A.R. didn’t do this than who in the Catacombs would have targeted Raven? It's not like she could have made any enemies yet, she just got here.

By the time I get to the infirmary I still don’t have any answers and Raven is still out cold. I feel a pang as I look down at her on the cot, looking so pale and tiny in the stark lighting from the florescent tubing. She doesn’t deserve this. As I look at her I notice yet another piece to the puzzle. While her arms are scraped and bruised, her hands are unscathed. If she had fought back shouldn’t her hands be just as bruised as her arms?

“Oh my god! What happened to her?” Exclaims Lauren’s voice from the door. She hurries over to inspect Raven’s injuries and I shrug in response to her question.

“I don’t know. She was lying at the bottom of the stairs on the way to the barracks.”
“Maybe she fell down the stairs then?” Lauren suggests hopefully. I shake my head

“I wish. From the looks of things it looks like someone attacked her. And I want to find out who”

Notes

Seeing the gay pride parade yesterday was one of the greatest things I have ever witnessed. The ability for two people to love each other should never have been under question and I hope it never will be again. This was a huge win, not only for the LGBTQ community, but for anyone who truly believes in love. <3

I hope this story helps to brighten your day and bring a smile to your beautiful faces. Love

Oooh, good idea!

Glad to see you back ! It's been awhile since I've been in school , so I'm not sure what the consequences are for writing fanfics in class , but I've started carrying a notepad in my pocket at work to scribble down ideas on , and I've been actually writing on one of my stories during breaks . You gotta grab the ideas when they come , or they might escape . I hate when that happens .
