I'm a Loaded Gun

Rescurrect the Sun

Andy and I both looked at each other. He pulled me in for a hug and we jumped away from each other when we heard hurried footsteps coming down the hall. My dad walked into my room and leaned against the door trim. "Rey, it looks like we are gonna be getting some bad storms." Just then, we suddenly heard the rain pour against the roof. "Do you still have your crank flashlight and your candles in here?"
"Yep, I have them dad."
"Alright, well, your moms going to bed, but I'm gonna stay up for a bit and watch this storm. I'll be in the living room if you need me. Oh, Andy, if you get tired the guest room is right next door, you can borrow some of Brandon's clothing so you don't have to sleep in your jeans. He's got some basketball shorts. Reya can help you find them, they should fit since her brother is real tall too." my dad gave us that look like don't even try to sleep in here, got it? He walked back down the hall.

Andy pulled me back next to him in a loose hug. My tv started going out and finally settled in the snowy screen. Grabbing the remote, I quickly turned off the sound since it made this horrible scratching sound. I set the remote down and wrapped my arms around Andy's waist, laying my head in against his chest. His fingers gently rubbed up and down my arm. I could hear my dads radio kick on, hearing his country music playing. It was the best station for weather.
"So your dad is a country guy too?" Andy laughed.
"Only a bit. He's a big classic rock and metal guy too. He loves Pink Floyd, Metallica, KISS, Piano Man, Loverboy, REO, and all of that. He's a big rock fan."
"Well your dad is pretty fucking awesome in my book." I laughed into his chest and suddenly the lights began to flicker. They finally settled on off. I sighed as I stared into the pitch blackness of my room. I almost jumped as I heard Andy's low, quiet voice in my ear, "Now might be a good time for those candles." I let go of him and turned on my phone, using the screen light to find my dresser. It was only a little after ten pm. I fumbled through my top drawer of the old wood dresser until my fingers contacted the rough side of my match box. I grabbed it and slid open the box, grabbing a match.
"Damn matches." I said as I tried again and again. No matter what I did, the fucking match refused to strike lit.

I heard footsteps behind me and my heart began to race as pair of warm arms wrapped around my waist, taking my hands in his. He gently pulled the match box from my fingers. "Here, why don't you let me help?" he released one of my hands and dug around in his pockets. He held out a lighter, and rolled the strike reel. A small flame danced it's shadows on my wall. I held up the small tea light candle to Andy and he held the orange flame over the small black quick. The candle lit and I set it back on the dresser. I grabbed Andy's hand and dragged around my room, lighting all off try candles I had set out for storm season. We lit the one on my vanity, desk, and the one on my nightstand. The four tiny candles set a a very soft, dim light in the room, giving it a warm maroonish glow. Now I understand why people light candles to be romantic. Andy wrapped his arms around me as I turned to face him. He set the lighter on the desk. His face was barely visible in the dark lighting, with his hair handing in his eyes. I reached up and brushed it away, his eyes looked ashy grey. The light gave his usually pale skin a soft tan glow. I realized I was smiling, and a smile began to form around the edges of his lips. I reached up on my tippy toes, placing a light kiss on his lips. If I wasn't smiling before I was definitely smiling now.
"Could bring your lighter into my bathroom for me? I need to wash my face and get ready for bed. Unfortunatly I have school tomorrow." he laughed and kiss me again, mumbling "sure" against my mouth. I giggled at the odd feeling. I took his wrist in my fingers and walked him to the joint bathroom between Brandon and Is rooms. He lit both candle on the countertop for me. "Here, while I'm getting ready for bed, you can get some clothes to sleep in. Open this door into Brandon's room and theres a big pine dresser on the left, just around the door. I think it's the third drawer down, Brandon has some basketball shorts and stuff. We are the same shirt size practically so you can borrow one of my band shirts, unless you want to borrow one of Brandon's. He has some vintage band shirts from his teen years. Well, uhm...actually your teen years.
"What do you mean your teen years?" he laughed.
"Your 20, Brandon is 21. So your band years." I said with a barely visible smile in the dark glow. He walked into the other room and I quickly washed off all of my make up. It's a good thing it's so dark, he doesn't have to see me without make up. I put on my face cleanser and after rinsing it off put on some moisturizer, since the cleanser dried out my face really bad. I opened the case of medications and poured water into the small cup next to my sink. I choked down the pills, closing my eyes and tilting back my head so I could swallow the last giant pill. I still hate these anti anxiety medications from the hospital. They made me feel weird. I finally swallowed the pill feeling Andys soft lips press against my cheek. I turned to face him in the dark light. I looked down to see him wearing a pair of red and black basketball shorts low on his hips, slightly revealing the V on the top of his hips. How many times had I been drooling over videos on my laptop of him on stage thinking how sexy he was, and here he was right in front of my face. He was still wearing his Mötley Crüe shirt.

"Oh come Andy, go change your shirt."
"I will in a minute." I grabbed my toothbrush from my drawer, and pulled out a spare new one my mom left I case Brandon came back home unexpectedly. "Oh does my breath stink? Very suttle way of telling me."
"No silly, it's just gross not brushing your teeth," I said as I began to brush mine. Andy took my toothpaste and brushed his. I spit in the sink, walking back to my room. "OK I'm gonna get changed, you go find another shirt. Don't come back till I tell you you can."
"Fine."

Andys POV
I stood in her bathroom, brushing my teeth. I rinsed out my mouth and walked back to her brothers room. I used my phone to look through the torn and shredded shirts in a drawer. I can obviously tell she got the love of music from her brother. He had a great taste in music, with lots of classic 80s metal and new punk. Scanning through the piles in the drawers I found a white shirt with the sleeves torn off with The Wall album logo on it. I pulled off my black Crüe shirt and folded it with my jeans. I slipped on the lose, ripped Pink Floyd shirt and returned to the bathroom. I quickly stopped when I caught a glance of Reya pulling on a pair of shorts in front of her closet. I looked away, setting my clothes on the counter top. God was it tempting to look. Maybe just a peek? It's not like I haven't already seen her with just a bra on. I remember the night in the bus when I first saw her bruises. She was only wearing a sports bra and a pair of black silk running shorts then. I glanced back through the doorway to see her pulling on a tank top. She really had a beautiful body. Most girls like Carrie I would say were hot. Carrie was slender, but had a large chest and was overly confident in her body, like most girls I'd been with or spent any time around. But Reya reminded me of Sammi, slender, fragile looking, but fit. Reya wasn't going to ever be a Victorias Secret model, she had a very small body, a very tight, toned stomach, and a smaller chest, but her pale skin glowed in the candlelight. I watched as she ran her fingers through her long hair as she combed through it, envious, wondering what it felt like to run my fingers through it. God I was becoming a fucking creep. I left my spare clothes on the counter and knocked quietly on the door. "Can I come in now?" she laughed quietly to herself. She motioned for me to come in the room. As I got close I could see she was also wearing a Pink Floyd tank top, it was dark purple, black almost in this light, with the pyramid and album art from the dark side of the moon cover. "Well, well, well, looks like great minds think alike."
"I agree."
She also had on a pair of short canvas shorts, the shortest pair I'd seen her in. I could see her blue bra strap peaking out of the thick tank top strap. I reached out and tucked it back under, her face blushing in the dark. I glided my hand up her neck to her jaw, settling my hand, cupping her face. She shyly looked down. I tilted her head up as I leaned down and kissed her. It didn't matter that I had kissed her for the first time today, it just felt right, natural. I pulled back but she leaned up on her toes and pulled me closer. I let my other hand trail down her back and rest in the small of it, carefully pulling her closer. Her lips were so soft and tender as they collided with mine. I wanted to growl as I felt her hands slide around my neck and latch her delicate in my hair. My fingers linger on her cheek and jaw, soaking in the soft feeling of her skin. Her lips were against mine, parting and connecting, both enjoying the feeling of being against each other. We parted suddenly as we heard a loud alarm.
"Andy that's the tornado siren." I couldn't see her face as she turned away, her voice was enoug to tell me she was filled with fear. she let go of me and walked as fast she could into the hall, where her dad was standing with a flashlight. "Dad the sirens."
"I know sweetie, there's a tornado on the ground about five miles away. The police spotted it down near the Curtis's farm. We need to get to the basement, you two get down there, I'll go get your mom."
Reya ran back to me in the room. "Hurry, Andy blow out the candles." I ran over the nearest candle and began rushing around the small room, blowing them out. She grabbed her flashlight and took my hand as I blew out the last one. She flipped on the flashlight and dragged me through the house to a concrete stairwell that led to her basement. We practically sprinted down the stairs and we were in a small living room. She led me to the old flowered sofa in the middle of the floor. We heard the footsteps upstairs as her parents ran across the house and down into the basement. The sirens were still blaring as they swiveled around their posts. I jumped as i realized Reya had wrapped her arms around me on the sofa. Her father set down a lantern light in front of the sofa as he and Reyas mother sat on the small two seated couch next to the one Reya and I were on. Reya was shaking, or so I assumed as I realized the ground was shaking. You could hear this sound as if you were standing next to a set of tracks as a freight train passed by. Reya tucked her head into my chest, as I wrapped my arms tightly around her. I closed my eyes, listening to the wind whipping around violently outside. Reya tightened her arms around my torso. I held her and gently ran my fingers on her arm. I was honestly probably as terrified as she was, but I knee she needed someone for her, so I did just that. We sat for what seemed like forever in the dim light of the lantern, listening to the wind howl. It began to calm.
"You might as well get comfortable guys, that was only the first side of the storm and there is another storm trying to combine with this circuit. It might come back around, we are gonna be for awhile." her dad said as he checked the radar on his phone. I didn't dare check it on mine.

Reya and I sat with our arms around each other for awhile, but I began to feel her lessening her grip on me after awhile. I knew it was her anxiety medication. She mumbled something about "tired" and "sorry", but I only laughed as she tiredly tried to explain she needed to sleep. I reached out and wrapped my arm around her legs, pulling her body up onto the couch with me. I stretch my legs out on the couch and pulled her up beside me, resting her lightly against my side . She wrapped her arm around my waist and snuggled her head into my chest. I reached out and brushed her hair out of her eyes. I leaned my head back against the arm of the couch and wrapped an arm around Reyas back and rested its hand in her side, holding her into me so she couldn't fall off the couch. I felt her chest slow rising against my side. I glanced across the room at her dad, who was sitting with her moms head on his shoudler, she was obviously asleep too as she lightly snored. He smirked and nodded to me, which I in turn returned with a smirk and a nod. I settled into the couch and. Losed my eyes, still listening to the howling of the night, wishing for the embrace of morning light.
