They pulled up to Matt's house and I got out.
" see you guys later" I said
" see you, the doors unlocked so you can get in, ill be home by 9"jake said and I nodded. I kissed cc and closed the door.
I walked up to Matt's door and knocked. Matt opened it with a smile.
" hey! There you are!" He shouted and I smiled.
" here I am"
"Come in" he moved aside and let me.
" the rest are in the practice room" he said and walked down the hall to a door. He opened up revealing a orange room. There were posters everywhere and lyric sheets. There was a microphone and instruments. The guys were spread apart the room on there phones.
" hey there she is!" Cam yelled getting up and hugging me.
" wooh wait what happened to your face?" He aske touching my face. She must of left a bruise.
I sat on a stool And fixed my hair.
" I got in a fight " I said and they frowned.
" but I'll have you know I kicked some ass" I said smirking
" really?" James asked
" yeah these girls have been beating me up ever since I got here and today I finally fought back, broke one of their noses" they all cheered.
" good job" Sean said and I laughed.
" thanks"
" alright so, lets get practice here are lyric sheets, ill sing along with you just so you get the rythem down sound good?" Matt asked picking up his guitar.
" yeah sounds good"
I took the sheets and got ready. The guitar picked up and next went the drums. The bass pumped through me and I started to sing the song with a huge smile on my face.
After we played through their whole album It was about 6.
" shit kid your really good" James said twirling his drumstick.

" now we need to make a video introducing you to our fans " Sean said getting his camera.
They set the camera on a shelf and turned it on. We stepped in front of it and Matt waved.
" hey guys were burn bright and we were just making a quick video to introduce out new member, her names Jess Pitts. I'm sure some of you have seen her play with of mice and men and we are proud to say she is our new lead singer " he said smiling and they cheered while I chuckled.
" say hi Jess" James said and I waved.

" and now we are going to play a song for you." Cam said. I looked at them and they smiled.
" we'll they need to hear you" James said matterafactly
" this ones called second and Sebring by of mice and men!" Matt said and walked to his guitar. I followed to my mic as the others took their instruments.
" you do the screaming okay? And join in harmonies whenever" Matt said and I nodded. James counted of and they started. I smiled and gripped the microphone. When it was my part I leaned the stand and started to scream feeling good. I could feel my anger and sadness leaving.
Afterthe song they said their goodbyes and turned the camera off. We wet up the stairs and to the living room.
" Jess you were awesome, so full of emotion on that song" Matt said and I smiled nodding. That was the song. Johnny loved. It was our song.
" thanks it means a lot to me, it was me and my friend johns song" I said playing with the ring.
" what do you mean was?" James asked and I sighed. I looked into their eyes and saw curiosity.
" my uh friend John, he died 2 weeks ago" I said and they're mouths hung open.
" I'm so sorry I didn't know " James said and I gave a weak smile.
" don't be it's fine" I said and Sean got up bringing me in a hug.
" you've gone through so much" he said and I nodded
" yeah a lot but it makes me stronger" I said and they smiled.

" we've all had our times." He began
" James love on the street since age 15, I dropped out of school and move in with Sean, and can was bullied, your not alone" he said an I smiled.

Cam groaned.
" I'm tired, I'm going to head home ill bring you home Jess" he said and I nodded standing up. I hugged the others and made plans for the next rehearsals before I followed cam out. I got in his pick up truck and he pulled out.
" I'm sorry about your friend " he said
" it's okay " I said fiddling with my ring.
" no it's not I can tell your still upset over it"
I sighed
" i am , and probably will be for awhile it's just hard to think he's gone" I said and he nodded.
" I know, I lost my mother last year" he said and I looked at him.
" wooh I didn't know that" I said and he smiled.
" I know, not a lot of people do, it still hurts but over time it got Better" he said shrugging as he pulled to jakes house.
" just know well all be here, your family now Jess, we'll always be here" he said and rubbed my shoulder.
" thanks that means a lot" I said and got out.
" I'll se ya" he said and I nodded as I shut the door and walked up the driveway. I opened the door and dumped my backpack in the corner and kicks my vans off. I ruffled my hair and went to the kitchen. I grabbed a water and apple and ate them starring at the wall.
Today played through my head. All the names I've been called all the times I've been hit swirled through my mind.
Next All of the memories with me and John replayed in my head. I sighed and clawed at my head.
I chucked the water bottle at the wall and it thudded to the ground. No matter what I did I couldn't be happy. I mean I I'm in a band! I fought against the bitches and won ! I should be happy but there's still a hole in my chest.
I walked through the kitchen and to the door. I walked out and slammed it closed. I went to the sidewalk and walked down it. I took my headphones out and put them in my ears. Second and Sebring came on. I sighed and kept walking.
I didn't know where I was going or cared for that matter all I knew was I needed air before my thoughts suffocated me. I walked through the park watching the trees sway in the breeze. I checked my phone and saw it was 8. Jake would be home soon. I didn't care
I walked to the small pond and looked at the water rippling. So peaceful yet so active. Memories of John swirled through me as I started down at it and tears started to fall. I curse as wiped them away.
" stop being weak" I said silently under my breath. I sat at the edge and just looked out letting my mind wander. After while my phone went off. I took it out and saw it was jake. Shit. I looked at the time and it was 10. Double shit.
I answers it .
" Jess! Where are you I got home and your bag was here but you weren't!" He sounded worried.
" sorry just had to think" I said and he sighed.
" where are you, do I need to get you?" He asked
" no ill walk home " I said
" be careful it's dark out, watch out for creeps or monsters " he said and I laughed
" bye" I said and hug up. I sighed and picked myself up off the ground. I walked home in a daze. It took about 30 minutes to get back. I walked up the stairs and opened the door. Jake pulled me in a hug.
" I thought something happened" he said
" jake I'm fine just needed air" I said and he looked at me.
" are you okay?"
I shrugged
" John?" He asked and I nodded he hugged me again.
" I know it'll take awhile to get over but call me next time or at least let me know where you are" he said and I nodded
" I will I'm sorry"

" don't be now I want food and your blocking my way to the kitchen" he said picking my up and putting me over his shoulder. I laughed as we walked to the kitchen.
